Was a last minute dinner date with my daughter as she had finished work early and we popped in after being turnt away from our usual haunts. So glad, as this place is a real treasure. Nice clean tastefully decorated interior, not too in your face to distract you from your quality time at the table. The staff were all keen to make a great impression and were super welcoming. The manager Antonio even came round the restaurant introducing himself and his team to us diners, which was really nice, as not many managers face their customers like this, he was really proud of this place and that's why I'm going to be making this one of our regular spots.
We ordered steaks, and they were exactly medium rare, which Gordon Ramsey would have stamped his approval on. Loved the mushrooms too, and this main course was served on a sizzle plate, so no cold anything even though my daughter and I were chatting each others ears off.
If your a coffee lover, do not despair, they make a wicked cappuccino (which i added my own artwork to :)and tasty mocktails with fresh raspberries. Honestly, we were really impressed and thankful they welcomed us in, without having booked-I have to give a big thanks to the lovely young lady who greeted us at the door with a big smile and told us all about the restaurant having just been opened, apologies as I am terrible at names but I think she was Georgia. Great gal and exceptional customer service.
Highly recommend trying this place out, I'm planning to bring a bunch of colleagues here soon for an early Christmas dinner...
Read moreMy husband and I came here to meet up with old work colleagues. There were 8 of us in total. 6 of us went up to the bar to order their food, and my husband used the app to order our food. It took 30 minutes for the first plate to appear at the table, and then the rest came, individually about every 5 minutes apart. One woman was allergic to cheese, so she stated NO cheese on her food, and it arrived covered in cheese (so after waiting for 30 minutes, hers had to be returned to the kitchen)! The actual food itself was acceptable, but nothing special. I had fish and chips , with a side of BROWN bread (photographed), and my husband had a large burger ( which I didn't get to photograph of). His burger was held together with a wooden fork instead of a wooden skewer, which obviously broke the burger up! We had chocolate fudge cake for dessert, which obviously had been warmed up in a microwave for too long, as it was very dry. We will not come back to this pub to eat again. The only upside of it was meeting...
Read moreTwo bars the largest of which is mainly layed out with dining tables though at one end a few locals seem to congregate. Been there a few times to eat but not recently. I found it to be a bit grubby and the food okay for the price but no more than that. Usually have to wait for drinks at the bar. This I think partly because there seems to be a constant change in personnel and they do like a chat amongst themselves and the regulars. The other bar not so long ago would be the Public bar. You can still order food but more of a 'pub' atmosphere. Friendly and a little noisy at times. Getting served here can sometimes take a while as there only ever seems to be one person available with the others seconded to the other side. Good bar to watch football, pool or darts. Prices are competitive and parking is usually okay. Would I go again? Probably. Would I eat there again? If I had to. It is a place to pop into but not one to arrange an evening...
