SUSHI by Boba Tigers and Bubble Tea Barkingside — Restaurant in London

We placed an order for 2 x chicken ramen, 1 x vegan sushi, 1 x chicken katsu curry and 4 bubble teas (2 milk and 2 fruit). I called to place an order and requested that it be ready for a certain time for collection. The telephone conversation I had with the gentleman was very informative and he was very accommodating to my specific requests regarding the sushi. We arrived to collect our order and it was all ready on time and piping hot even when we got home. My children polished the ramen which was a good portion. My husband enjoyed the Katsu curry. He did say he would have liked a bit more curry for next time. He would gladly order it again. I am very particular about sushi. I don't like too much seaweed, so they ensured the sushi was well balanced. Everything tasted super fresh and the bubble teas were the ideal balance of sweetness. I liked the variety of flavour combinations as well. The tapioca also had the right amount of bite to them (we are a family who have tried a lot of bubble tea over the years and are extremely fussy). The lady at Cafe was very polite and pleasant. It was not a cheap takeaway (having the school staff discount is great and appreciated), but it's a great option to have locally for fresh, good tasting unique halal food! We are bored of burgers!

Has potential but this place needs improvement. This was my 4th visit as I wanted to try a variation of flavours before I reviewed.

Things to improve: Staff need to understand the products. There isn't much expertise in the product and asking questions, like flavours and tea selections came without much response. They have options for ice and sugar which are never asked, in fact as a customer I had to remind them the percentage level.

Tasting Sessions: Some of the flavours were really inconsistent and not what was described, my first drink ended up being fizzy drink. It's not mentioned on the menu and surprised this is available on a bubble tea menu.

Frying Food: Be aware they serve food that includes frying of strong pungent meals, it's not something that should be made in an open counter and definitely not something you should come out smelling when grabbing...

Came to the shop at 11:45 to see it was closed with no notice and decided to come back again at 12.25

I saw a man opening the shutters and asked him what time does the shop usually open. He advised it opens at 11am but due to a ‘mistake’ he will be opening now (12;25). I asked him if I was to place an order will it be ready before 1pm and he said yes.

I am now still waiting outside the shop for it to open (12:54) to order my bubble tea.

Surely if your not able to take the order by the time given you would advise the customer ?

We all work jobs and I work for NHS but rather than watching me through the door and telling me your not open yet , let me know in advance so I’m not wasting time waiting outside.

I’ll also be emailing a complaint against the shop as it clearly isn’t opening at the times...
