We came for the Sunday roast sharing platter. The food was really incredible! Hence we were so disappointed with the service following our meal. Our booking was for 1 hour 45 mins, after we finished food, they brought us the bill and we paid. We hadn't even finished our drinks and they were cleaning the table (with us sat there). They checked whether we'd paid, cleaned the table TWICE more whilst we sat there and as we were putting our coats on they started laying the table again. Could they not have waited 30 seconds? We left earlier than we wanted to because the staff made us feel so uncomfortable. We hadn't even been 1.5 hours and no one was waiting for a table. I wish we could ask for a service charge refund! So disappointing as the food had been amazing, but we left feeling really angry given how rude the staff were. We had been forced out despite being well within our booking time and no one waiting. Did not feel like a welcoming atmosphere at all.

Bold claim - best roast I've ever had. No messing around went for the ultimate share platter and every item whether meat or veg played its part. No passengers at this railway station. Pictures don't do it justice, the meat was all slightly charred and perfectly seasoned on the outside but moist and full of flavour upon devouring. All the veggie bits were delicious. The cauliflower cheese and cabbage were slightly creamier so complimeted perfectly with the savoury meat. Special mention for the scotch egg, which I don't normally eat. Crispy outside, golden yolk and lots of meat in the middle. The price is very fair for the quality and quantity. To be honest, been to plenty of restaurants lately where you're getting charged minimum a tenner for a small underwhelming plate and you're needing at least 8 before leaving unsatisfied. In comparison this was very good value and left hugely satisfied. Wouldn't hesitate to go back. Friendly staff too.

The Railway Pub Teddington is a popular gastropub in the heart of Teddington. It is known for its food, friendly service, and lively atmosphere. The pub has a wide range of dishes to choose from, including classic pub fare such as fish and chips, burgers, and steaks, as well as more modern dishes such as pizzas and pasta. The food is always fresh and the portions are generous. The service at The Railway Pub Teddington is good. The staff are friendly and attentive, and they are always happy to make recommendations or answer any questions you may have. The atmosphere at The Railway Pub Teddington is lively and fun. It is a great place to meet up with friends for a drink or a meal, or to watch a sporting event. The pub also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, such as live music nights and quiz nights. Overall, The Railway Pub Teddington is a great place to go for a meal or a drink.

Unfortunately it was not the Mothering Sunday I had hoped for. Not for my mother, my lifelong friends or for myself. Whilst we enjoyed the food and the staff were polite and helpful, I would like the management to acknowledge the following:

I booked our table on or soon after the 14th of February stating that we had a well behaved dog. Yet we were seated on a table that could not accommodate a dog to even lay down. He spent the whole time tangled amongst our feet which meant I was unable to relax for the entirety of our visit. I even emailed, first thing, in the morning to check you were still happy to accommodate a dog as I received no acknowledgement from you to say that my special request was accepted or not accepted? Just as well, the dog I brought was not a St Bernard!!!!

On the mini blackboard on our table was a list of guests that were to be seated there throughout Mothering Sunday. This immediately gave me and my guests the impression that we were just on a ‘get rich quick’ conveyor belt. Get them in, get them out, re-sell the table type attitude. We were told that we needed to be prompt to sit down, yet once we ordered our food we waited 45 mins for it to arrive. At pudding time we were told we had to be quick as we only had 10 minutes left before our table was re-sold. We would have loved to stay for pudding but didn’t want to add indigestion to our rushed experience. I had driven from Gloucestershire, 2.5 hrs, one of my friends had travelled from Scotland and the other from Sussex, just so we could celebrate what should have been a very special day of feeling appreciated.

The final insult was when I was handed a bill without the £80 deposit deducted, which I had paid a month prior and then we were presented with Mother’s Day envelopes with vouchers in and were told, with a huge amount of glee, that these were so we could return and quote, ‘spend even more money!’

So we left the establishment not being able to have pudding or coffee and feeling quite short changed, to be frank. The Railway HAD been our local for many years which is why we wanted to return but I think a picnic from M&S in the park would have been a more enjoyable option, on this occasion. My husband has spent many years in hospitality and always took great pride in making his customers feel very special. I am afraid we all just felt like we...

The Railway is exactly what you want in a local pub. From the moment you walk in, there’s a welcoming vibe that’s hard to beat.

The staff here don’t just serve you—they genuinely care. They’re friendly, attentive, and always ready to recommend a great drink or chat about your day. There’s a real sense that the team loves what they do, and it shows.

The management at The Railway knows what makes a pub special. In the summer, you’ll find the place surrounded by hanging baskets of flowers that give it a charming, almost storybook feel. When winter rolls around, a well-fed log-burning stove turns the place into a cozy retreat. It’s these thoughtful touches that make The Railway feel like a home away from home.

And then there’s the food—especially the Sunday roast! This isn’t just any roast; it’s the kind people travel for. With perfectly roasted meats, crispy potatoes, and Yorkshire puddings that are the real deal, it’s a standout experience that’s worth the trip. If you’re a fan of a classic Sunday roast done right, The Railway is a must-visit.

The drinks selection is solid, too, with a good mix of local ales, wines, and everything in between.

Overall, The Railway nails what a local pub should be: friendly, well-run, and full of character. It’s the kind of place where you feel welcome whether you’re a regular or just passing through. If you’re looking for a great local spot with a warm atmosphere, excellent food, and a top-notch team, The Railway...
