Absolutely dreadful experience at the F.R.I.E.N.D.S quiz night.
Firstly, I booked a table nearly 2 months ago for a group of us to have a good place in the pub.
1, Upon walking in, my first impressions were that the event had been overbooked and people were crammed in to just make more money for the establishment.
2, I couldn't find my reservation anywhere.
3, I found out that being just 5 minutes late meant my table was given away.
4, we were given a beer barrel from the beer garden to sit at which had a centipede walking around the rim
5, this beer barrel was for 3 of us to eat and drink at whilst doing a quiz
6, the quiz was being read through a terrible PA system that we could barely hear
And finally, 7, the video round wasn't visible by some people in the pub without moving
To sum up: far too busy, my early booking was effectively useless as I was literally shoved in the corner to make more money and the quiz was incredibly unpleasant to take part in.
One positive, though : the quiz was well written and I did enjoy the format and the questions. Other than that, I will not be returning to this pub, ever. Especially not for a quiz!...

The only mystery is why I went there as long as I did. There was a particularly vile redhead girl behind the bar before its closure. The last Sunday I was there, she stopped the open mic 90 minutes early and told us all to leave. No idea where she is now, but frankly, customer service is not your forte; you should give up and do something else!
I must have spent hundreds if not thousands drinking here, more fool me. I know there's new management etc now but I'll still not go back. Good luck to the new management, because you have an Everest to climb, to get the pub back to anywhere near...
Read moreLove the Hogarth, absolutely amazing pub. Not just a boozer , it’s a community. All the staff are so lovely and welcoming I genuinely don’t think I’ve known anywhere else like it. I can walk in any day , any time on my own and just talk to who ever is in there, it’s that kind of place. From a business point of view, the drinks and service are excellent, the opening times are very generous and also the events that they have on are a blast. It never goes stale; there’s always something fresh to keep the fun vibes coming. Also the live music there is awesome, the jam night every Sunday has some fantastic musicians on a regular basis, the energy and the atmosphere is fantastic, if you don’t believe me then come down for a drink and watch, it’s amazing what you’ll find on your doorstep! It’s Run by Matt, who is a wicked guitarist/singer, who pulls in some amazing music. Big shout out to him for always entertaining and keeping the pub friendly. Also a big thank you Haydon and the gang for keeping the place running at all times, He puts so much pride into his part of the pub. All the team are amazing! Best pub...
