The Royal Standard — Restaurant in London

Well where to start. Living locally and knowing alot of people in the area I was utterly shocked and disgusted by this pub on my second visit there. What was a long day at work and thought I would go down to the local pub to have a drink chat and relax with family. As soon as I arrived I was welcomed by quite vile disgusting looks from two of the woman behind the bar. To then be told after just buying a couple of rounds that it was tickets only so we said ok could we buy tickets. For her to say no regulars only. In other words, time to go! Being with my 60 year old mum and her partner and my partner and me. I was generally shocked. Had they thought we was trouble makers, fair enough. But to behave like that towards new customers I would not be surprised if they loose the business. Well done! Officially the most un welcoming, rudest pub in the village! Unless you want to be put in a very unpleasant situation I suggest you do not step foot...

Quite a rarity in this day, to find a pub where the staff won't smile or look a customer in the eye when you order a drink (and seemingly leave you waiting endlessly to be served) but the Royal Standard have staff that have mastered this skill in spades. Went there to see a friend's band play and was made to feel decidedly unwelcome. I only hope the locals are...
