I hosted a surprise party for my boyfriends 30th birthday here and it went swimmingly. Everyone had such a great time and multiple people told me they thought the staff were great.

The venue provided meat and cheese platters that looked beautiful, everyone was commenting on them.

I would recommend this venue if you are looking to host a party. Multiple guests also told me they thought it was a great venue. (I booked out the far end room).

In terms of planning & prep before the party and on the day, the staff were very accommodating and were prepared to help where needed. The venue let me book out the room all day which was so so helpful in getting the room set up.

The only not so positive thing to mention is that they weren't always quick responding to emails/phone calls, but they always got back to me in the end. The proof is in the pudding and the party went great so not a big problem.

Also - just important to note - the fridges in their kitchen are small so if you have a big cake, it won't fit. I got around that by putting bags of ice under the cake (which the venue was very accommodating about). They also put the cake in the cellar for me to keep it cool. Again, very helpful! And the cake was fresh and delicious even the next day so the lack of fridge space didn't end up being a problem. But just something to note in terms of your logistical party planning!

I would host another party here for sure.

There was about 30 people at my party and the far end room was the perfect size for that amount of people.

Also Scottish Stores is just a nice place to sit and have a drink, a very good atmosphere and location is very close to kings Cross Station.

The reason I chose this pub for the party is because it's one of my boyfriends favourite pubs in London :)

Thanks again...

I have been coming to this place for 3 years now and is considered a regular. I love the bar Staff and have enjoyed many great nights. I have never written a review regarding Scottish/Wine stores but I have noticed since Ian (last manager) has left and a new manager has taken over, I believe his name is Lee the atmosphere has been deteriorating. I have held many events here and I have had nothing but the best of service. I have witnessed the manager having a 'go' at his employees for having a cigarette break in front of my self and a few others, a patron. This is not very professional. last Friday (02/03/18) we had to wait over half an hour for a drink...this is not the bar tenders fault as there was only one person behind the bar on a busy Friday night (wine stores bar area). I asked to speak to the manager whom wasn't available as he left to do something. I have also heard they will be replacing the bottled fresh Juice for cartons and they have taken away my favourite shot cazcabel....I will be happy to review this with anyone that wants to listen therefore if the owners or person in charge would like to speak to me please feel free to send me a message Yours faithfully, Kasun Silva, patron for 3 years, considering finding a new place to drink

P.S I hope someone gets in touch so that we can correct the bad...

We Came for a groupon "free flowing prosecco and meat or cheese platter" bought for my best friend's birthday by her delpved sister. After a slightly shaky start(being questioned by a young brunette barmaid as to when the groupon was purchased as there is a limit to the 'free flowing prosecco' if booked after feb. Thankfully Paulo (the amazingly wonderful and customer focused gent that he was) came out to smooth things over and we had a wonderful evening dispite the initial lack of welcome. We love the place, great vibe and just a bus ride away from home in the now trendy Kings X area. A great place to spend or just start an evening. We left suitably drunk, well fed on a basic, but delectable cheese board and slightly drunken after just the right amount of prosecco (although we wonder if at least one or two rounds may have been cava?). Nonetheless a fab evening out and we will most certainly be back as a new 'regular haunt'. Wonderful vibe, good wine selection and great tasting, if basic, cheese platter. Highly recommended (ask for Paulo for...

The Scottish Stores was an unplanned surprise, a cozy refuge I found due to another local pub being closed. Upon entering, I was greeted by a series of intimate side rooms, each offering its own cozy setting, making it a pleasantly inviting space. The beer here is of good quality and the prices are reasonable, which is always a welcome find in central London. It embodies all the qualities of a winning after-work pub, providing a comfortable space to unwind in the midst of the city bustle. In essence, The Scottish Stores is a warm, welcoming spot that offers good drinks at good prices—making it a delightful discovery for anyone looking to relax in a cozy atmosphere. --- "Enjoyed this review? Deceptively large pub with many rooms and lots of nooks-and-crannies to explore, and even a roof terrace. Huge selection of real ales and craft beers. Staff were friendly enough early on a Saturday evening but not quite as welcoming as some have said. I was also a bit put off by the bouncers frequently touring the place, despite it being pretty quiet inside at the time of my visit. There are quite a few unsavoury people hanging around the south end of Caledonian Road so I do understand why you may need bouncers on the door, but surely not inside unless there is an issue? Overall more positives than negatives, so 4 stars feels about right.

Great place, it's a pub with traditional, original fittings at one end and then on the other side feels more of a wine bar. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, perfect before and after Nenno next door! One improvement they could make; their pizzas are listed as 12" stone-baked which gives the impression of fresh, Italian style ones. Actually they're not 12" and are pre-made and then tarted-up by adding oils and grated cheese - they actually looked very appetising but would be good if they made proper ones fresh.
