Well, platform 9&3/4 is much easier to find for Muggles than when I was last in London 14 years ago. Back then, there was just a decorative trolley going into a wall. Now, platform 9&3/4 is located where it’s meant to be, between platforms 9&10.
For some aspiring young wizards and witches (my son and daughter, naturally), it was a truly magical place. I feel bad about skipping cues, but waiting for a photo really wasn’t going to be a possibility for a neurodivergent child that wasn’t expecting a crowd (silly mum not expecting all the muggles to have found out exactly where 9&3/4 is…). And I didn’t want to get my own wand out and expose myself. The amazing staff taking photos treated my beautiful little sparkly-brained girl and her brother like VIPs rather than a hassle, and we were whisked to the front in an unobtrusive manner that may have been noticed by a couple of people but not many. She said to me later, “Am I really a VIP? Because that’s a very important person!” And I said of course you are darling!
All the staff in the shop were amazing too, from the lovely man that was very patient with the kids picking borders for their photo to the gorgeous lady that spoke with us with obvious passion and excitement about what house the kids are in, to the lovely lady that patiently processed our purchases and advised us to have a magical day.
We are on our way to the Warner Bros studio tour today, and I just wanted staff to know that your attitudes towards people with invisible disability makes a huge difference to them and their parents or carers when they’re there. Thank you for doing the sunflower training / taking the sunflower message on board, you have obviously taken it all on. Hopefully we’ll have some great feedback for the Warner Bros...
Read morePlatform 9¾ at King's Cross Station is one of the most iconic locations from the Harry Potter series. In the books and movies, it’s the magical platform where students board the Hogwarts Express to journey to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It is hidden from Muggles, only accessible by walking through the barrier between platforms 9 and 10.
At King’s Cross Station, you can find a special tribute to the wizarding world, located near the concourse. Here’s what you can expect when visiting:
The Platform 9¾ Sign: There's a prominent sign marking the spot, where you can take photos as though you're walking through the wall to catch the Hogwarts Express.
Trolley Photo Opportunity: You can pose with a luggage trolley that appears to be disappearing through the wall, just like in the films. It’s a popular spot for fans to snap a picture!
The Souvenir Shop: Right next to the photo spot is the Platform 9¾ Shop, where you can purchase all sorts of Harry Potter-themed merchandise, like house scarves, wands, mugs, and more.
Themed Experience: There are also friendly staff members to help with the photo and guide you through the experience, making it feel like you're truly stepping into the magical world of Harry Potter.
If you’re a Harry Potter fan visiting London, it’s a must-see spot that brings a little bit of the...
Read more⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 Stars) We visited the Harry Potter 9¾ at King’s Cross St Pancras Station on a Monday evening, and the highlight of our experience was the security man outside the shop at the front entrance. He was absolutely amazing — polite, courteous, and very informative. In fact, he was far more helpful than the shop assistants inside.
I didn’t want my children to wait over two hours just to take the official photos outside, and I really appreciated the fact that you can take your own pictures with your own phone or camera without having to pay £15 for theirs. This made our visit so much easier and more enjoyable.
Honestly, if it wasn’t for that security man, my review would have been three stars instead of five. He made our visit special, left us with a positive impression, and even made me want to come back again. Unfortunately, the other security man on the opposite side was the complete opposite — rude, unwelcoming, and far too pushy. In my opinion, he’s not suited to a customer-facing role, especially representing Warner Bros.
The shop itself is fantastic but very overcrowded and uncomfortably hot. The merchandise is great, but the assistants inside could be a little more helpful. Still, overall, it’s a magical place to visit for Harry Potter fans.
Huge thanks to the wonderful security man at the front — I wish I’d caught your name! You truly...
