3 staff were aggressive and dismissive toward me when I tried to return bad food. The first responded angrily with "what? Why?", told me I wasn't allowed to complain because I should have done so immediately (but nobody came to check that everything was okay) and then told me I'd have to speak to a manager I'd have to take my plate go and find one myself, then walked off.

The second started talking for a moment after I went to the bar looking for a manager, but decided instead to roll her eyes and walk away mid-sentence (not as a result of me interrupting or anything like that) - but at least she brought the manager very quickly.

The third (duty manager) barely let me get a sentence out, told me things like: the food being unsatisfactory is just my opinion; if she had to make a refund it was going to take her ages to find my table on the system; I'm being unfair because the cost will come out from her stock; I couldn't return it 'just because I don't like satay' (a completely weird thing to say; that wasn't remotely what my complaint was); she would take it away and taste it herself and tell me if I deserved a refund; that she's not going to keep doing refunds for me (again weird as this was my first time at this bar), and so on. All the while full of unmasked disdain for me.

From the first interaction, the first staff member (large red beard) looked like he wanted to hit me and indeed towards the end of the interaction with the manager (where the first staff member came back to stand behind her and watch), he loudly stated that he had to step outside to cool off.

All in all an extremely weird approach to customer service. There was obviously a lot of underlying tension amongst the staff, with all three of them ready to snap within seconds. I'm a pretty calm and friendly person so although I was the trigger I'm assuming I wasn't the cause. And regardless, even if I had been a difficult or unreasonable customer, it was a completely unprofessional and embarrassing way for them to deal with that. I shouldn't have been made to feel like some sort of enemy, and definitely shouldn't have been made to feel unsafe.

(The food in question - listed as chicken satay with dipping sauce and a bean sprout and coriander salad. What I got was stale, thick, dry hard lumps of pan-fried chicken, a pile of dry bean sprouts (none of the advertised coriander or other salad elements) and none of the advertised dipping sauce but a dry, brown thin glaze on the chicken. The sauce had no flavour whatsoever and the chicken had that unfortunate, very strong aromatic flavour chicken gets when it's either old, cheap, low quality or (given its staleness I suspect this is what happened) pre-cooked and left to sit. I forced myself through a skewer but it made me too nauseated to keep going. The chips were very nicely cooked for what it's worth - crispy and fluffy - and I still paid for those, but they came without any salt (had to ask) and were an extremely small...

šŸš‡Ā Borough šŸŗĀ Ā£5.60 Amstel ā¤ļø A reinvigorated Borough boozer. . Situated at a busy intersection on Borough High Street, you’ll find The Trinity Pub. If you fancy a bit of sightseeing en route, the last remaining wall of Marshalsea Prison (1373–1842) is located just across the road. The nearest Tube is Borough which is next door to the pub. . The pub was previously known as The Hole in the Wall from 1899 to 2014, when it was given its current moniker. Prior to 1899, it was known as The St George’s Tavern. Fuller’s acquired the pub in August 2019. . The decor here is contemporary and has that Fullers touch of class about it. The main bar is set out in an ā€˜L’ shape with a dining area at the back and the predominantly imbibing area at the front. The servery is a good size and accessible from all areas, upstairs is a function room called the St George’s Room, I would guess in homage to St George the Martyr Anglican Church across the road. . The beer line up is strong, there is a good selection of craft, mainstream and cask options. I was taking in easy and opted for an Amstel, my pint was decent and cost less than six quid. There is a traditional pub grub menu available, I was feeling a bit Hank so ordered some Whitebait, my food hit the spot, price point was Ā£8.95. Just for comparison, Fish & Chips costs Ā£18.50. . I arrived just before 3pm on a Saturday afternoon and the pub was busy with both drinkers and diners. The atmosphere was welcoming and convivial, there was a nice buzz here. The service was on point, the two ladies behind the bar were all smiles and courteous. There is plenty on offer here to keep you entertained, throughout the month there are comedy nights, quizzes and cocktail evenings. Also, if you work for the NHS, discounts are available. . I last visited the @trinityborough five years ago, back then it was a tired Borough watering hole. This pub is a great example of ā€œ build it and they will comeā€. I really enjoyed my visit here, lots of different people from all walks of life socialising in a welcoming environment, just as it should be. Definitely worth a look folks. . ā„¹ļø Info correct on...

i was so disappointed with this place! came in for lunch for 12 ppl, placed order about 12 o'clock, which i was told to when i spoke to the manager earlier, we obviously just had an hour for lunch, and never had a problem with any other pubs with food being on time. waited for 45mins for food, people after us who had ordered already had their food. when i spoke to the manager, he stated that the reason for delay was because we had ordered starters, which was basically salad and bread, but when the chef came out, he stated to me that the person who took the order, basically messed up, so the manager was lying to me!! they did take off the drinks off the receipt, but that was no good to us, we still ended up paying over £200 for an inconvenience lunch, and it not about the money, it about the quality of how you treat your customers! i would not recommend this place to anyone if they are planning to have work lunch for above 5 ppl, as it seems they are incapable of handling big orders and when they mess up...

Stopped by with my husband after exploring the nearby Asian market, and we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed the vibe here! šŸ‘€ Atmosphere The interior has a cool industrial-chic design with thoughtful details and a very photogenic bar area. The colour palette and decor give the space a warm, welcoming feel. It’s surprisingly spacious, with indoor and outdoor seating right by the canal — perfect for sunny days or casual hangouts. šŸ» Drinks We only had a couple of beers this time — tried the house-brewed IPA and Lager, both were refreshing and smooth. The drinks menu looked extensive, with lots of other options we’d love to try next time. šŸ½ļø Food Didn’t order any food on this visit, but the pizzas on nearby tables looked amazing! Definitely planning to come back for a proper meal.

I ran a coaching workshop for men’s mental wellbeing in the private room in the Trinity. From the first interaction the team were great answering all of my questions and letting me come down and check out the space. They allowed me access the day before to set everything as I wanted and check all the tech and were accommodating to make sure that all my food and drink was all pre-ordered and ready to go. On the day itself the team was a well oiled machine. They were incredibly helpful and communicative. They had someone on our private bar, kept me updated with the tab and were even able to push food back a little when we were running behind. The service was EXCEPTIONAL! We will be booking again very soon! Thank you so much for all your hard work!
