More than happy to give The Village Inn five stars. Go visit and support your local pub! We went on a Saturday night in June 2023. A nicely decorated pub that is halfway down hill at south end of Nuxley Road. Small at the front but opens out inside. Drinks are the cheapest in the area and pricing is consistent (some pubs take the p**s and charge you differently every time you order). Bacardi and bottle of coke plus bottle of IPA £8.10. No real ale except bottles. Bar staff and manager Lauren were helpful and friendly. Customers mostly middle aged. There's a long "L" shaped bar with wooden floor and plenty of seating, about ten low tables with plenty of low chairs, some of which are upright dining chairs - others are unexpectedly soft, as I found when I unexpectedly collapsed into mine! There are bar stools and a few high tables as well. A spacious games room is out the back with a good pool table (£1) and a dart board. The gents was spacious (and unaromatic!). There is a beer garden out the back. On this occasion, karaoke was on with Graham aka "Sting" who was friendly to newbies and soon fitted us in. (some DJs prefer their mates to strangers, ensuring strangers never return. Doh)! His system was okay. Sting and his brother managed to do eight or so songs between them, so pub customers got that many less goes. Karaoke normally once a month. They do have other entertainment as well. Check pub FB page.... Car park just up the hill. Handy for bus routes 401 and 422. Only issue for me was no Internet. I'm on Vodafone. Apparently, there's BT WiFi available but no good for me, so no Internetty whatever. Just like the good old days 🤣

Lovely staff and friendly place. Entertainment at weekends and they have a great pool table, really fitted well. The pub and locals really look after it! They show all sports and have a great selection of drinks, even inclusive of non-alcohol beers, which I really appreciate. Most importantly, as a woman, I feel safe whether I'm there alone or with friends. It's my...
