We recently had a small journey to take care of a personal matter. While in an unfamiliar area, I took the opportunity to explore and visit a new place. I always enjoy discovering different spots when I’m in a new location, and this was one of those occasions. After a quick search on Google, I found this dining spot and decided to give it a chance. I want to begin by saying that I don’t like criticizing small businesses that are trying their best to survive. However, paying attention to details is absolutely crucial for them to thrive and remain a top choice for customers. Unfortunately, this place fell short in several areas. One of the first things I noticed was the lack of menus on the tables. Instead, the menu was displayed on the wall, requiring customers to stand in front of the counter to make their choices. While this might work for some, it didn’t feel like the most welcoming setup. A menu on the table could make the experience more comfortable and relaxed. It was also quite cold inside the restaurant. I understand that utility costs can be a significant burden, especially for small businesses, but ensuring a warm environment is essential for customer comfort during cold days. There was an electric heater placed near one of the tables, but it provided very little warmth. Interestingly, each table had blankets available for customers to place on their laps, which was thoughtful but also a clear sign that the space was not adequately heated. We ordered tea, which was served in cups rather than pots. Personally, I always prefer tea served in a pot, as it enhances the experience and allows for refills. Additionally, the tea came with milk already added, which was unexpected. This should ideally be clarified with the customer beforehand or served with milk on the side. In hindsight, I could have requested black tea, but the lack of communication about preferences was a miss. The menu included a Mediterranean breakfast, which was the main dish we ordered. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to its name or expectations. The breakfast plate was poorly prepared—a sausage, for instance, was dried out, likely due to being left in oil for too long. Sausages like these should be cooked in a way that retains their juiciness. The plate itself was sparse; while it was sufficient for one person, it lacked the richness and variety that one would associate with a proper Mediterranean breakfast. If a restaurant chooses to offer this type of dish, it should ensure it delivers on the promise. The establishment seemed more suited to daily workers, such as those in construction or building trades, rather than families or casual diners. Its location wasn’t too bad, being surrounded by several high-rise neighbourhoods, but the place didn’t appear to be meeting its potential. The toilet facilities were also a disappointment. To access the restroom, customers had to go behind the counter and through the kitchen area. While the toilet itself was clean enough, the poor structural design of the space detracts from the overall experience. The setup could make customers hesitant to return. Overall, this establishment has potential but lacks attention to key details that could make it more inviting and successful. The atmosphere was cold—both literally and figuratively—and the food and facilities did not meet the expectations set by the menu. While I appreciate the effort put into running a small business, changes in layout, heating, food preparation, and customer service could make a significant difference. For now, it seems like a place better suited for quick meals for workers rather than a comfortable spot for families or casual diners

If you look for a nice and cozy place for a breakfast, a place serving delicious food and tasty strong ground bean coffee - you definietly should visit Tropical Cafe! Took breakfast set 4 and enjoyed every bit of it, topping this up with a latte coffee. Being able to enjoy a nice breakfast sitting in a sunny garden - couldnt ask for better start of the day ;) Outstanding !

Cannot be faulted Freshy cooked food, good sized portions and very reasonably priced. The establishment is very clean and the staff are cheerful and respectful of the customers needs. Reading material available in the rack on the wall.

Since the cafe has a new owner it's a kinda mess... I go there regularly I loved that place, staff was always nice and helpful but some months ago it all changed. New staff doesn't understand simple things like fry the egg properly/well (had to ask 2x). Their cappuccino cup is....How can I drink from a (totally full) square shaped cup...? After a guest leaves they leave the tables dirty for too long (even tho its only me there so thet are not that busy).Got a small electric heather only a week ago (it's end of February and there are minus degrees outside!) plus they still done nothing with the door to close properly, the wind, the cold is coming in,everyone is sitting here with their jackets on! This place needs serious changes, instead of putting new stickers on the wall they should take care of things what...

At first I thought everything was good, then the food arrived, a very small portion for one, not to mention it didn't even look like that made any effort, the food had been slapped on the plate with no care, after I had enough of my breakfast I would have love 5 mins to let what I had eaten to go down without feeling like I was being rushed out the cafe when it wasn't even busy, the waiter women is rude and has attitude, on a serious level go to the shop and cook your own food I've spend the last two days in bed sick off the scrap I was served from this despicable place, you defiantly don't deserve any recognition for such...
