Village Cuisine — Restaurant in London

Real shame I’m having to review the village cuisine 1 star but as a take away service I would avoid. I’ve waited 2 hours for food when I was told 45 minutes which is completely unacceptable. All the food was barely no sauces included bar one mango chutney in honesty had I known I wouldn’t have paid for it. The last time I ordered it was an hour and a half again after being told 45 minutes, surely if you’re busy you should just tell your customer a more realistic time?! A small, but not cramped, Indian restaurant with nice decor and lovely atmosphere. The menu has a wide variety of all of the curries you could possibly want and some very nice chef signature dishes also, extremely well cooked. Service is friendly and relaxed but efficient also. Drinkwise they serve both Cobra and Kingfisher-which is a bonus! We had a lovely selection of mixed starters and then chicken, lamb and vegetable curries - all of which had very nice flavours. A lovely clean bright family run restaurant,no paper napkins or table cloths here. Nice clean linen cover the tables with a bottle of spring water. The temptation to cut back over 30 years has been resisted. There's a comprehensive reasonable priced menu with unusual dishes I've never seen before. This make a refreshing change as other restaurants have cut back,simplified and restricted choice. The service was good with a complimentary drink offered.
