Omg we've always loved the Wonder quaint pub nice outside area been many times in the summer with our daughter HOWEVER the manager (a young girl with long brown hair who seems a bit nuts) told us our daughter could only stay til 10pm....fine we know the rules but we've been outside so many times and enjoyed the evening til closing and never had a problem...we've never seen this manager before but tonight she watched us buy a round of drinks at 9.45 and once we paid came storming over to our table shouting this child needs to leave....we politely asked if we could finish our drinks in the outside area and she said no......so we took our drinks outside with our daughter and tried to quickly down them only for her to come marching out and shout "I told you to leave' our daughter is 6 years old and was scared we said we are just finishing our drinks you served us but if you are that angry we'll take a refund and leave now (we were actually joking becoz our drinks were almost drunk and we needed to get our little one home to bed anyway) the young manager was so aggressive and replied yeah come get your refund she swiped all our drinks from the table and when we reluctantly went to the bar she shoved a receipt in my hand and said refund done!!! I'm honestly home now and my partner and I are baffled by her strange behaviour why wouldn't you let a group of very respectful quiet people finish their drinks outside and leave? Instead she gave us a ÂŁ25 refund just to get the upper hand it's ludicrous....I've never put a bad review up before and we loved the Wonder but because of this very strange woman who manages it we will never go back....such a shame but someone needs to give her some training on how to run a pub she's...
Read moreI am appalled by the abhorrent treatment my friends and I received during a recent visit here. What was meant to be a, social evening among adults quickly devolved into an uncomfortable and deeply upsetting ordeal.
Despite being of legal drinking age and presenting ID, several individuals in our group had their drinks confiscated without explanation or justification. The drinks were paid for in full, and no inappropriate behaviour had occurred.
The manager proceeded to shout at paying customers who were simply enjoying their evening. Shockingly, he directed his verbal abuse toward 18-year-olds in the group, using language that was not only profoundly inappropriate but outright demeaning. Phrases such as âLook at yourself,â and âYouâre going to go nowhere in 10 years â youâre nothing,â were hurled at individuals with no provocation. This was not the measured conduct of someone in a position of responsibility; it was an unacceptable abuse of power.
This incident was not a mere lapse in customer service â it was a complete failure of professionalism, basic decency, and duty of care. I strongly urge both customers and owners to take this matter seriously.
When others tried helping out and de-escalate the issue he shouted at others trying to help saying ââI donât care moveââ
He was so extremely rude, abused his power, and when my one of the many paying customers asked for a refund since he took the drinks, he carried on his stomping tantrum.
DO NOT come here, he will take your drinks and refuse to give you your money. The pizza truck was good however, I recommend the margarita pizza while I hear a sassy twinkle-toes nose ring wearing man-baby...

I have seen pubs on old TV programmes where there's a sing along of traditional songs around a piano but I'm in my mid 50's now and despite living in London my whole life, I've never experienced this until yesterday when I visited the Wonder
I was invited for a birthday party there and at 5pm, the piano started, accompanied by a guy on spoons and a washboard
The pub was packed with 4 different generations and I have to say, it was fantastic
Roll out the barrel, maybe it's because I'm a Londoner and it's a long way to Tipperary were but a few I know, with everyone joining in.
The real fire was going, the drinks were very well priced, the staff were great and the windows steamed up from the warmth inside
It was a fantastic evening and anyone wanting to experience this has to get to the Wonder sooner rather than later because evenings like this won't be around forever
If you try it once, I'm sure you'll be back with...
