Aunt Sally's Kitchen — Restaurant in Maidstone

Went out of our way to travel here for breakfast because we thoroughly enjoyed our last visit. However purely on the attitude of one staff member we decided to walk out. As soon as we entered the cafe she called out and instructed us to wait and pointed out that we should have read the sign asking to wait to be seated. Ok but we had only just got in and were still looking at the surroundings. We waited and when she had time to attend to us I asked if we could have the window seat. Well, I felt like a child being reprimanded when she TOLD us NO we HAD to sit on a table for two not for four. Ok fair enough bit there were only two other tables with customers, its not as if they were crowded or rushed. Nor were folk queuing at the door to get in. I’ve visited ASK many times over the years and it is consistently excellent. The food is beautifully cooked and brilliant quality, the service the ladies provide is always friendly/helpful/attentive, and the place is consistently busy. I usually opt for a fry up (the Great British) which some might say is expensive at nearly £15, but in comparison to the competition in and around Maidstone, it is only £2/3 more and the quality speaks for itself. ASK is always a solid choice, the overall experience is brilliant, I don’t waste my time going anywhere else for breakfast. My only gripe is that it is £3 for a can of full fat coke, aside from that, there is no grounds for complaint. I moved to Maidstone in November 2020, and found this lovely restaurant in 2022. I am so impressed with Aunt Sally's. The food is delicious, the service is 5 star and the staff are always friendly, and so polite. On 4 March 2023, we organized to have my Mom-In-Laws birthday "tea" at Aunt Sally's. Sandra, the lady I spoke to, to organize this event was amazing. We originally booked for 10 people, then it changed to 11 people, and then on the day, it went back 10 people. Sandra never once got irritated, and was so accommodating to our party. Our waitress Beth was amazing, and so friendly. The cakes, sandwiches, tea & coffee were absolutely delicious.
