Really not surprised to see the negative reviews below.

I taught at the one of the nearby schools & had the misfortune to visit this establishment on a few occasions with colleagues - the other negative reviews describing the bar manager Ollie are completely true.

I share the views as I witnessed this vile excuse of a human being in this disgusting little pub, having to scrape the bottom of the barrel & get low grade ‘comedy’ acts in to lure unsuspecting customers in so they can be abused & ripped off.

A racist abusive thug who treats woman & any people of colour in the most heinous & intimidating manner, it is therefore no surprise he & the pub are known to the local police & licensing authority.

Comedy Club ???? They'll get any old racist abusive cheap comedian that can't get a gig anywhere else, call it a comedy night & then throw out any member of the audience who dares to stand up to the personal & vitriolic abuse being dished out to any member of the audience; my partner & I witnessed this when we had the misfortune to visit this grotesque establishment when they had a cheap desperate wannabe of a 'comedienne' called Cerys Matthews from Bristol on - a tacky talentless abusive wretch of a middle aged overweight woman out to abuse any pretty young girl she saw in the audience when she couldn't get any laughs. We also witnessed the 'bar manager' attacking that poor young woman as mentioned in the other reviews; absolute vermin...

Absolutely love this pub! The landlady is the most friendly and lovely landlady in town. It is dog and child friendly. Excellent food including their 'Build a Burger' with whatever toppings you want! Very spacious beer garden which is a perfect sun trap in the summer and the atmosphere is lovely.
