​What a fantastic find OPA GREEK! is in Mansfield. They offer dine-in, takeaway and delivery, and we opted to eat in, heading upstairs to their comfortable seating area. The menu has everything you'd expect from a Greek restaurant and so much more, all freshly cooked to order. ​We started with the spanakopita, which was absolutely amazing and packed with flavour. For our main, we shared the Greek-style mixed meat grill for two, and it was certainly more than enough for the two of us! The platter had an incredible range of flavours, with chicken gyros, pork gyros, chicken souvlaki, pork souvlaki, Greek kofta, Greek village sausage, Greek salad, pitta bread, chips, tzatziki and their OG sauce. Every single piece was cooked to perfection. ​The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. A great bonus is that they don't have a drinks license, but they allow BYOB, and there's a Sainsbury's close by, which makes it a really excellent and affordable option. After my partner walked by here, and said the aromas were amazing, we thought we'd give it a try and boy we didn't regret it.

I like to shamefully admit, I am a bit of a takeaway connoisseur I've probably ate my body weight in takeaways, and that is a LOT. I've had some good ones and not so good ones. But this, OPA is a cut above the rest, the food was out of this world.

I had the spesketi cheesy lover sandwich my partner had the mixed meat one. The consistency of the sandwich was wonderful, it was bursting with flavours, the freshness of the salad, the cheese the bread and chips. Everything was faultless. Even the presentation and the way the sandwich was assembled with a skewer so it wouldn't fall apart like a cheap suit. It was worth every penny, I recommended it to mum, she had her first one yesterday and loved it.

We came here last night for a family meal. We ate upstairs.

Firstly the staff are very nice and attentive without being annoying, we were a family of 6 and I think the upstairs could seat 12. There is a toilet which was nice and clean.

Next.. the food! WOW! It was delicious. Everyone really enjoyed it, even my dad who is notoriously fussy, he said that the chips were the best he’s eaten in DECADES 😂

We all had gyros (some wrapped, some boxed) and it was great, and the portions were huge. All were presented nicely. We also shared olives and filo wrapped feta in honey, again, delicious.

I know that it’s a takeaway but eating in was lovely. No, it’s not posh but I almost felt like I was back in corfu!

We will definitely be returning and it’s on my take away list now too!
