The Star — Restaurant in Mansfield

The landlord were swearing at us not being professional and drinking on the job didn’t think that would be allowed! We only put a complaint to them we haven’t shouted or swear at them, had a bad experience day there, there’s no communication between the staff isn’t good at all, telling us different times for food, telling us can’t do ice cream but other staff said we do. Turn forest match over to the Liverpool game even though forest only had 5 mins left, they said we got it on other tv so watch it on my of them, we sat there all day watching the game, would of been nice to tell us that they will be putting Liverpool game on but except they said we check Facebook and social media, which why would anyone check that before coming to a pub. After we all explained what happened they said we are barred, I don’t think they can bar us over a complaint! Well I will be taking this further and would not return to this...

Having had 2 super meals , we went there on Sunday. I don't think I've seen or had such a horrendous meal anywhere else. 1 Forty minutes wait. 2 both roast dinners appalling, dried beef, yellow cold brocolli, soggy horrible white cabbage, small uncooked parsnip, deep fried ( roast( potatoes, stuffing that hasn't been cooked actually raw inside. Lump of tasteless mashed potato, old tasteless Yorkie, however the gravy was hot! 3 The child's chicken burger was without a bap a small bit cut off and a plate of baked beans 4 Child roast similar to adults 5 steak and stout pie that's uncooked pastry cold inside etc etc On top of this the sport TV was on full blast with many yelling fans, and to ensure we hadn't any ear drums left, the pub music was turned on loud , resulting in coarse dialogue from bar staff to sky watchers . So sad, but I think the owners...

Great pub with potential but let down by no play area for the kids and recently the food has not been as good as it used to be.

Updated 22/06/18 food came no knife and forks and painful to get these, had to fetch my own dips, fence panels broken, broken glass all over floor, broken table parasol which was a hazard to poke an eye out. Not impressed this was a family pub and defiantly not child or adult family and is now basically fast becoming a run down dump though lack of maintenance and effort by the owners

Update 26/10/18 new owners and massive improvement on environment (the undesirable drinkers no longer here) and food quality. Really nice place now to visit for a quite drink or a meal with the family. Review mow hone from 1 star on last...
