A beautiful meal and can't fault the excellent food. However, the service really lets this place down. I was with a friend who is celiac. When she asked about various dishes, the staff were clueless. We waited forever to be served, so when it came to dessert and coffee, we were told coffee wasn't available "the coffee machine had been switched off". A group of teenagers who made it obvious they wanted to close and couldn't raise a smile between them. When my friend asked if there were any gluten free desserts, she was told ice-cream. When she asked to order the ice-cream, she was then told no, as there was nobody available to check if it was gluten free. ALL restaurant staff should be trained in allergens and information should be available to customers at all times. Very dangerous and illegal. Such a shame, as the food is delicious and very well presented. I'm fortunate to not have food allergies, but a word of warning to those who do. Please...
Read moreWe had booked a table for 8:30pm, that had been booked for a week. When we arrived we were quickly served for drinks. We waited for about 30 minutes and the waitress didn’t come over to take our order for food. She kept looking over but didn’t get the hint that we wanted to order. As we had booked the table, we should’ve had our food order taken after drinks were served, but this didn’t happen. I was not waiting any longer so I went to the bar and explained the issue. Another waitress had told me that there is a que for food. Bearing in mind we had booked the table, and we was not informed that there was a wait for food. God knows how long we would’ve been sitting there waiting if I didn’t go up to the bar. I thought the service was appalling, so we paid for the drinks and left. The food is amazing here, but the service massively lets this place down, the waiters/waitresses don’t seem engaged in the...
Read moreVisited on the 22nd of September. Our overall experience was spoiled for the following reason. My friend was told that gluten free pasta was available when he checked before booking the table over the phone. But this was not the case in the restaurant. Was this due to non-availability at the time (bad luck), or was it not available full stop, i.e. the member of staff he spoke with made a wrong assumption maybe due to inexperience, or my friend was told an untruth to encourage him to book? I would hope it wasn't the latter. We did consider going elsewhere but in the end decided to stay. Fortunately the food was very nice with other GF options which did appease us somewhat. But I have to stress that without GF pasta (and pizzas) the menu is very restrictive for customers who are gluten intolerant. Maize and rice based GF pasta is readily available these days and many Italian restaurants have it on...
