Skogen Dorridge — Restaurant in Metropolitan Borough of Solihull

I was badly disrespected by a member of your staff on Saturday July 19th. I had booked a reservation for 8pm, however when I arrived I did not only feel unwelcome but also completely degraded. The man was of average height, with long and curly dark hair. I was also told he is assistant manager.

I walked to the door holding a drink I had bought from another business and I asked him if there was somewhere nearby that I could dispose of it. I did not have any intention to bring the drink inside, however he shouted at me, asked me how dare I come to the door with a drink and accused me of being blackout drunk. However, I had not had any alcohol to drink at all and I was in no way rude or rowdy. Not only did I feel disrespected but I also felt embarrassed and humiliated by him.

He said we could not come in as there was no space, although the restaurant was half empty. We politely repeated that we had booked a reservation, although he was not listening to what we had to say. Eventually he allowed us inside, however we decided to leave right away as we felt totally unwelcome.

I have never felt more disrespected as a customer at any business I have ever visited before. His reaction was completely disproportionate and extremely angry; we were so shocked by how sudden, abrupt and confrontational he was.

Even worse, as we left, a group of people nearby said that they were leaving also because the same man had been rude to them. Instead we went to Oktogen where we were treated kindly and with respect. In Oktogon we also overheard another group of people saying they had left Skogen because the same man had disrespected them too, on the same night. They also said that a lot of their friends had been treated badly on several nights before.

I am never going to visit Skogen again and everybody I spoke to said the same. I will also discourage anybody I know from visiting Skogen in the future. Not only was this mans attitude disrespectful to customers but I would never treat another person in that way EVER. All of the other members of staff were very kind and welcoming but this particular employee is not only unwelcoming but he feels gratified by trying to degrade other people.

My experience with this venue was disappointing. It is never pleasant to encounter issues with a booking, especially when it is for a special occasion such as a surprise 30th birthday celebration.

It seems that the venue failed to properly manage my booking and was unable to accommodate my party of 30 guests on the day of arrival. This kind of error is unacceptable.

As a result, I give this venue a poor review for their lack of organization and failure to deliver on their promises. Their inability to honor my reservation caused a great deal of inconvenience and disappointment for myself and my guests.

The manager and staff were rude to all involved and would not offer any solution to resolve the mistake they had caused. No effort to even serve the group with drinks to toast the birthday girl on her arrival.

Overall, it is important for venues to take responsibility for their mistakes and do everything in their power to make it right for their customers. Unfortunately, it seems this venue failed to do so in...

Been looking forward to coming here for a while. All was fine until we ordered food. Took 45 minutes to arrive, with a table who had come in after us, getting food before us. Then once it came it was an extra 10 minutes before our sides came, we wasn't told on an to food wait times, no apologies for how long we had to wait either. We had no one come over to check if our food was okay, or if we wanted any drinks. I wouldn't have minded going up to the bar if it wasn't a table order service, and that I didn't want to keep getting up. Whenever I looked to the bar there were just multiple staff leaning on the bar, one was eating, and a few were on there phones. There was no service, no helpfulness, nothing.
