Apollonia Greek Cuisine — Restaurant in Milton Keynes

Very poor quality food, and bad customer service. Read positive reviews so decided to give the place a go. Having been greece quite a few times and having greek friends I have pretty high standards. The food however was very poor. The lamb skewers were fatty and not good quality, but the worst was the chicken, it was a rubbery as I have ever had in a restaurant. Very disappointed, all of us tried some and came to the same conclusion, that aside it tasted bland as well. When we brought it to the attention of the waitress she defended the chicken, stating it's the best chicken in the area, I don't think she has been next door at the Indian Restaurant where the food is very good quality?! We were given a replacement meal of chicken gyros which was alright, but nothing special. Soon as we had complained they looked at us differently and made us feel uncomfortable. The chef could have come over, but instead walked past without saying a word! When the bill came we would have expected the chicken skewers to have been deducted but nope they expected us to pay the full amount. Needless to say we will not be back, very...

I’ve given it 3 stars for the benefit of doubt and the hope I’m sure will improve. I’ve had both a sit in and takeaway. The waitress seemed a little surprised it was so busy inside and that they really didn’t expect it 😳 The food when it arrived was plentiful as has been mentioned elsewhere. The only thing I noticed and wished I’d said something was that the chef preparing the food did not wear gloves, he manually squashed the Souvlaki chicken on the skewer and then went straight on to another dish. The chances of cross contamination is extremely high here. Get some gloves on please!! The takeaway was disappointing we had Chicken Gyros and the wrap was filled with chips and very little meat. I think if they can get some of these areas sorted it will be a good little addition to Newports food scene, but any hygeine issues and it won’t be there long. We’ll wait...

Not sure five stars cut it if I'm honest, doesn't feel adequate enough. From the moment we entered to the minute we left I just felt such a glowing sensation. The young girl who seated us and catered to us throughout was so lovely, the food was immense, I haven't tasted anything quite so authentic outside of the Mediterranean and the authentic atmosphere and decor just topped it all off. The only let down and in no way a bad mark against the business, was the number of rude, jumped up customers that came in whilst we were there. It's bad enough when abroad seeing British arrogance but when we have visitors from abroad who have better manners than the locals, it's just downright embarrassing. They literally cost nothing and you don't even have to mean it, just makes you look a better person.
