Being the foodie I am, I saw this pop up in my “suggestions for you” on Facebook and thought - I must go!! Yesterday was the day!! Walking past the front it was pleasing to see their seating area was full of people (lucky we only needed takeaway) if we wanted to sit in we would have had to wait. Anyway. We were greeted by a super friendly and informative gentleman (keen to have us sit in rather than takeaway). We placed our order and were asked to wait 20min (acceptable - good food is always made fresh!) Some seats freed up and the kind gentleman offered for us to sit. The food arrived and we headed home. Opening the bag was great, the burgers come in a super awesome burger box (a MUST see) - HOWEVER - (I know I am a little critical) the burgers come wrapped in foil (my pet peeve - I stopped supporting a local burger joint because they refused to serve my burger in a burger box rather than foil) LET ME EXPLAIN - especially in a takeaway, while the foil helps keep the burger hot/warm it does horrors to the bun! All the condensation gets absorbed by the bread, and when you only get to eat it a half hour later the bun is a soggy distasteful mess - That the only reason for the 1 star deduction. I will however, ask next time to have my burger served as far away from foil as possible! 🤣 We had a Plane Jane, Crispy Chicken and a Juicy Lucy …. The burgers were AMAZING!!! The seasoned chips are great too!! We were so hungry we never too pics of the burgers!! Will do that next time and then update the review!
So, in closing, this is a new little burger joint with MASSIVE potential to become a home name in Milton Keynes! The food is FRESH and made to order which makes for great dining!! Seating IS limited, so plan your visit if you wish to eat in. The shop is cozy, well laid out and the food is beautifully presented in stunning wooden bowls (from what we saw) the flavours are incredible and the service is fast and personal. Give these guys a try … you...
Read moreWe have tried Bunz twice now. The first time my husband collected a takeaway and the second time we sat in and ate.
The food is good for the most part, burgers well smashed and the chips are good.
The restaurant area is clean.
Good selection of boycott friendly drinks which is a plus.
For me the Nashville chicken doesn’t quite shout Nashville enough. It’s too salty, not spicy nor sweet enough.
And the chicken wings were a bit cold in the middle? The bone was a bit grey too. They left me wondering if they were fresh or previously frozen.
What left a bitter taste in my mouth was the service. My husband made the order at the counter and spent over £50.
Not even 10 minutes later we realised there is a “monthly special” which is the munch box. This included a selection of items we had ordered for £15.99. We did of course order other items on top of those munch box items. But ordering the munch box would have saved us about £9, if we had noticed this before ordering.
Unfortunately when my husband asked about the munch box later and if the server had applied the deal, he said “no, it’s right there”, I assume he was meaning to say “you should have read it yourself”.
Idk, if I were in the server’s position, rather than bag the extra £9, I would have brought the munch box to the customers attention in order to let them take advantage...
Read moreEDIT: I have just discovered via instagram that the bacon I added to my burger yesterday was lamb. I do not eat lamb or beef. I am disgusted and devastated that I have unknowingly eaten a meat which I do not and would never eat. It is not stated anywhere on the menu. I know now that is a halal restaurant but that also isn’t very clear. I am extremely upset that after so many years, I have eaten something I said I would never eat again and I retract my statement below. We will not be returning.
My husband, my son and I tried Bunz today for the first time. My son had the Big Bunz burger & mozzarella dippers. My husband and I took advantage of the lunchtime meal deals - veggie burger for me and honey and garlic wings for him. Everything was delicious. The veggie burger was my favourite by far - it had an onion bahji taste to it and it was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The fries were nice and crispy. The homemade garlic sauce was lovely. The homemade chilli sauce was also lovely but a little spicy for me however my husband loved it. My son got an Oreo shake to go and we took home one of the Lotus Biscoff Dream Cakes which we have just eaten and it was really tasty. Great value for money along with Blue Light Discount, which is always appreciated! We’re not local but will definitely be making...
