Superfish — Restaurant in Mole Valley

I picked up a take out of cod chips and mushy peas on Friday evening, but when I got it home and unwrapped it, it was the worst fish and chips I've ever seen. Not only did it smell my house out with a burnt oily smell, the batter was dark brown and burnt and the chips were totally overcooked. I've had meals from here before which have been ok, but this was awful. They can't have changed the oil for ages and the fish itself was cooked within an inch of its life instead of firm and flaky. It resembles nothing like the lightly cooked batter on their website. I don't like posting bad reviews but this was being the pale. DISGUSTING. So excited to order last Saturday only to have a bitterly disappointing experience.

We ordered 2 large cod meals and you can clearly see from the picture one is NOT large, barely even a child’s portion!

Both fish were not freshly cooked, had been hanging around and as you can see the batter was burnt, soggy and tasted of bitter, old oil. Swimming in grease. And the underside of the fish were barely battered at all!

The chips were equally disappointing “scrag ends”. They must have been yesterday’s old potatoes as they tasted rancid, were soggy, greasy and over cooked. Definitely not fresh and just the nub ends with loads of black bits in them.

Saturday evening, family and friends from 🇧🇷 Brazil 🇧🇷 for supper, what to do? We rang Superfish and ordered 14 various fish and chips meals. Nothing was too much trouble and optional side orders were suggested and ordered for a "proper fish and chips supper"! Mushy peas, curry sauce, gherkins and even baked beans! We arrived at the agreed picking - up time to find the last of the order being packed carefully into a large box which was insulated with tin foil.
