Costa Coffee — Restaurant in New Forest

Visited Hythe this morning was in a small que social distancing a lady and 2 young men in their 20s were in front but the 2 young men were clearly together chatting and stood side by side and near the lady this was whilst they were paying them the Costa employee whose name tag said Nathan shouted at Tom of his voice are you together referring to lady and 2 teenagers they said no he then shouted social distancing there a pandemic which is fair enough but not to shout loudly then shouted for crist sake he was referring to all in que but the lads were ones not social distancing but he clearly didn’t want to direct it at them but to the other customers including myself who were in fact on your markers doing social distancing one customer said if that’s how u speak to your customers I’m off that employee Nathan I have heard him shout before a customers not a good representative for Costa I will not be visiting...

I come here for the great coffee & great staff. Never a problem & nothing is too much trouble for the team. Even on the busiest of days there is always a warm welcome from behind the counter. I'm reluctant to give 5 stars however as I feel the shop is very tired & that investment is needed to revitalise the place ... bits are falling off the walls & the flooring is shabby. Also both washrooms have been in need of attention for quite a long time now ... particularly the one in the extension ... something is leaking in there & it's not nice to use despite the staff trying to keep on top of it. Come on franchisees ... it's a busy outlet & you obviously make money from it ... how about investing some back & making it 5 stars for...

I must say a big "thank you" to Abbie and Felix for preventing me being really poorly. I have a milk intolerance and I came in with my dog and I ordered a hot chocolate and a pup cup. My dog absolutely loves visiting Costa. All the staff love making a big fuss of her and she gets lots of attention from customers too. This one time when I was ordering my hot chocolate I forgot to tell them about my milk intolerance as I usually order oat milk. Thank goodness Abbie and Felix were alert! I would have been so poorly if I had taken a sip of my drink.

I must say that I find all of the staff at Costa so hard-working, so attentive, are on the ball and are very friendly. Thank you for making myself and my one extremely happy...
