We had two meals at this restaurant/café having visited on two days as he site has free return within 6 days. On the first visit we had a snack lunch: a toasted sandwich and a bowl of soup, both delicious. The area is confusing. from the entrance through which we arrived the sandwich bar is nearest. We saw an offer for soup and a sandwich for a set price but there was no sign of soup. While my husband waited for the sandwich to be toasted, which took quite a long time as each side is done separately, I wondered ahead and found the hot food bar. This is screened by the sandwich bar from our chosen entrance. I bought 2 soups and we paid separately, so are still not clear how people obtain the special offer in fact another customer was trying to do just that.
On our 2nd visit we planned to have a hot meal and we now knew the layout. It was delicious. Sadly, we then thought we'd have some ice cream, which is from another, quite separate and unattended, bar. I asked a member of staff about it and he promised to return and serve me. I waited … while he passed me twice; I pulled a chair over and sat on it … As he was about to pass me yet again, I called him and he then came and served me. On neither occasion was the restaurant/café busy, it being a very cold, very early January day. The food is good but allow plenty of time; O, and check the layout for...
Read moreTerrible food and expensive. Ordered the £12.50 "Classic Burger", I assume it had been laying around somewhere for a while and mildly reheated, was solid very overcooked and cold, the chunk of pale tomato was bigger than the burger. I have never taken food back before, but this was beyond bad, I got a refund and went hungry. Wife's Mac and cheese was mediocre at best, the kids chips were petite for £4.50 each. The garlic bread was oily but at least edible. Near £50 for four of us with drinks. The server dropped the cutlery in my coffee, got new cutlery but didn't replace my coffee. The Mc Donald's on the way home was far far superior in every way, and less than half the price. Beaulieu was wonderful, the restaurant appalling. Next visit we are taking a...
Read moreOrdered the classic burger and chips for my grandson and a jacket potato with tuna for myself. The burger was overcooked and may well have been reheated. It did not look freshly made. It was covered in salsa sauce making the bun mushy and wet.The chips were nice. My jacket potato arrived cold and I took it back for reheating. I was then given another one and was told it was just out of the baking oven by a woman who I believe was the manager. She spoke to me as if I had insulted her. The replaced potato was certainly not hot and just barely warm!! I didn't want to make a fuss in front of my grandson and ate my potato. Not impressed. If I go to the museum again I will...
