I visited this place at lunchtime and found it was lovely and bright with friendly staff. There was a small queue with people safely spaced out ( Covid provision). The food on sale looked appetising . I bought a ham and cheese croissant, a millionaires slice and a bottled soft drink. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the ham used. The croissant was light and fresh. The miliionaires shortbread was delicious too. Due to current circumstances I couldn't sit inside the cafe, but I have been prior to Covid and recall there was always a good atmosphere and staff were helpful and polite. As a takeaway they offer baguettes, toasties, croissants, delicious muffins, cookies and cakes . Cold drinks are in a refrigerator and they also sell excellent coffee. Selection of muffins is good including vegan and gluten free options, however the most recent time I went the muffins were very dry and not as nice as before. I also asked if they could do an iced coffee with oat milk. They told me they could but then put frappe powder in it which contained milk. I would have expected that when I asked if they could do the iced coffee with oat milk, they would have informed me it would still have dairy milk in. Thankfully I watched them make it and asked what was in the added powder. They did then make me a drink without any dairy once I told them I couldn’t have dairy. Quality of food and drinks was good, the selection of cakes in particular was excellent and looked very inviting, however I appreciate that anyone working within a face to face retail environment at the moment (Myself Included) will be under a certain amount of pressure but there's no excuse for bad manners, the first experience with a member of staff was when the server greeted us with "We close in 30 mins" well good afternoon to you to, I'm well aware of this can I have an Elderflower ice tea please.
