Planet Pizza — Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

I am here to review this gross travesty of a fast food place. I ordered a relatively costly meal, but i could understand why. It was a large meal for me and my freinds, and i was skeptical of the prices due to how low they were. For example, less then 6 quid for a 10 inch pizza. I let that slide, and ordered 2 between us all. (There was 4 of us, we were agreeing on half each.) I decided to get some sides, which was the mozerella sticks, and the garlic bread supreme. Two lots of them, so, so far everything had came to around 24 quid. The final part was the cheesecake, which brought it to 27 quid. The wait for the food was ridiculous. About an hour, although we lived in relative proximity to the restaurant, we did not get our food until atleast an hour later. When it came to the door, to my disbelief i had found only one pizza had came. This was some sort of sick joke as anchocies were all over the pizza, despite us asking for two chicken and mushrooms. I went to the place, and asked for the owner. The worker seemed afraid, which i would soon learn wasn't in bad taste, as the owner had quite a temper as he came out. He began screaming at me, saying i was a filthy b*strd for ordering those 'disgusting toppings' and at one point, began to wave a kebab knife around, in an attempt to scare me. I was ready to call the police, however a worker said the manager had already been in legal trouble before, and did not want to lose his job over a vicous outburst from the manager. A few days later, i had recieved a refund, however i was not looking for a refund, i wanted to get some food on a friday night pub crawl for my freinds before we went out, but that had not happened. Absolute horrible treatment. Two pizzas mistakenly got delivered to my house. My uncle who’s English isn’t very good just accepted them as it’s not strange for someone to order pizzas at my home. Once I realised nobody had ordered these I even asked the surrounding neighbours if they had ordered pizzas, no one had. I called pizza planet to tell them about this. Got an extremely hostile and aggressive response to an innocent mistake. The person on the line threatened me with police saying that accepting food you haven’t ordered is a crime. That’s understandable however, who would ring up to say they’ve had two pizzas delivered to the wrong house if they had planned on stealing them. Utter rubbish. The person at pizza planet was shouting down the phone and extremely disrespectful. An extreme and unreasonable reaction to an innocent mistake. He asked me who the delivery driver was ( if he was black) I said I didn’t know as I personally didn’t open the door and my uncle had left the house at this point. Yet he still asked how I could’ve not seen the delivery person. AGAIN I DIDNT SEE THEM. I sternly told them not to speak to me using that tone and to not be disrespectful and I was trying to be helpful. Finally he sent the same driver back to collect the pizzas. Got a call not even two minutes later that pizzas are being delivered to my house. The same driver who just left my house thought we ordered pizzas yet again. The correct address was not even a one minute walk away from my house. Maybe pizza planet should be more concerned with training their staff correctly, being more organised and respectful people. Would not recommend. At least the delivery person was nice....

Avoid like the plague.

Ordered off uber eats and wanted to support small so opted for planet pizza as they looked pretty good and had a nice variety. My partner had been at work in a school all day and was exhausted so we decided to order instead of cook.

Bad idea, fried bread has more taste than the pizzas did.

We ordered at 5:55pm and delivery was expected at 6:40-7:00pm. Thats the standard wait from uber eats so was not too concerned. The order did not arrive til 8:00pm.

We called the restaurant at 7:20pm to try locate the food and they said it was out for delivery. That means the food was out of the oven over 40minutes when we received it and from a food hygeine point of view, this is a nightmare.

We received the food and it was just warm so had to heat it up in the oven. The spicy chips were stale and literally just had some form of curry paste on and the two pizzas had absolutely no taste. I only got through a quarter before I stopped because my glass of water had more taste that the food did. My partner managed one more slice than I did.

We ordered a tikka pizza and a london pizza with extra chicken, garlic and sweetcorn (the extras charged at £1 each making the 10" pizza £9). An absolute rip off. Wish we had just gone with our usual a bit closer to us.

Save your money and have some toast, tastes pretty much the same and thats an insult to toast. We had to go through a considerable amount of Sweet Chilli Sauce to eat even a small porportion of it.

I'm almost tempted to contact the Food Safety department at Newcastle council as would not be surprised if I wake up tomorrow with food poisoning from the one bite I took to assess if...
