Stayed here weds evening.. arrived about 8pm to check in . Receptionist friendly and gave us room key , told us to go to green king next door before they stopped doing food . All good in there , food nice and again staff pleasant . Came back and went to room 22. Room was ok but tired . Condensation marks on end wall above wall heater . 2 round tables near the bed as bedside units had been broken off the headboard.. no sockets near bed to charge phones so not good . Tv was the size of a computer monitor not attached to wall but on some funny mount .. looked stupid when decent tv’s are so cheap now . Heating didn’t work so room on 17c . Bathroom was a disaster.. floor was spongy as if you were going to fall though it . Mirror had water ingress all along bottom edge as mounted to low to taps . Toilet and bath panels had been removed endless times leaving panels damaged. The main room door again had loads of holes in it where numerous locks had been fitted . |Breakfast seemed total miscommunication between the hotel and green king .. apparently been going on 7 months. Times being the main issue as not conveyed clearly. Put posters up on the door and in reception so guests see them .. easy |Car park good as not charged for yet . |In all other premier inn hotels...
Read moreI was a bit worried as to what I would find considering some of the more recent reviews for this hotel. It is a looking a bit tired, it was looking a bit tatty in places (espcially the bathroom) and if you were going to watch TV all day and night a pair of binoculars would be recommended but it was fine for one night and perfectly comfortable, if dated compared to the newer Premier Inn bedrooms.
My room was on the upper floor of the main hotel building, it was comfortable, however the security light right outside the window was a bit of a pain as it came in round the curtains but on the plus side, ample parking and if you need to get to the airport its one stop on the Metro that stops opposite the hotel.
I can understand some of the comments from other people about their stay - especially those who end up in a room in the separate building that houses the restaurant as its a bit of an odd set up and does look a bit tired on the outside but would stay again if in the area and it was cheaper than the other Premier Inn just up the road.
Breakfast was fine, I don't think this hotel gets a big throughput of people wanting breakfast so it maybe wasn't as appetising as other Premier Inns but overall a nice...
Read moreThe hotel is conveniently located for the airport, a quick hop on the metro and one stop later tou are there. The room itself is a big let down for this place. Thee asre no power sockets next to the beds, they are across the room, this makes charging a phone whilst having it on hand for an alarm or incoming call, inconvenient. A USB or plug socket at the head of the bed would be most welcome. The TV is mounted to the work desk so you cannot move it if needing to work, it is also mounted to the front of the worktop so you lose all the space behind, also it means if you are sitting at the worktop and turn the TV to view, it is right on top of you so you lose even more desk space as you.have to move back. As I was only here for a night, I attempted tto utilise the free wifi, this was so slow I ended up using my phone to hotspot off my 5G which was much faster. Negatives aside, the beds were comfirtable and I got a good sleep. The shower was great but the bath could really do with replacing as there are grubby signs of age and use. The staff here were amazingly friendly and extremely helpful, they certainly made up for the negatives...
