Quaystone — Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

The staff were completely absent. No one greeted me, i sat and waited for over 10 minutes, the ordered online. My meal was placed in front of me, no eye contact was made by the staff member who put my meal down and left with hardly a word. Very anonymous and unwelcoming. I wasn't brought a fork to eat my meal with and it was impossible to get anyone's attention and they were right at the other side of the restaurant so I had to choose, as a lone traveller, to leave either my bags or my meal or both unattended while I went to find a fork. My table was broken and in general the tables and floor were grubby. The restaurant was almost empty and it was mid morning so being busy can't be an excuse. I was looking forward to a nice meal here but the experience was poor. I would have stayed for coffee and maybe a drink after my meal but the service was so bad and the place so grimy that I left as soon as I had finished. Food was quite...

Granted I only ordered a coffee and to my mistake, I should of just used the Starbucks! But I had a hour to kill, and maybe I might of wanted to order food. That was until I was handed a drowned bucket of black coffee! Which was ordered electronically at my table. So when I managed to ask a server if I could change it, because when does coffee become more water than coffee? I was told to take it to the bar and ask.. neededless to say I'm petty, and just placed it down and walked out! At £3.20 il swallow it as its not worth explaining that a black Americano with one shot can't then be drowned in what I can only guess is 20 plus ounces water! I want something to wake me up! Not piss 3 times on the plane! I get that England is catching up to coffee of the real world and I didn't have great hopes for the north.. but again, il just walk rather than suffer that. Lover...

Disappointed with the food, was very overpriced for what you got. Partners bacon stottie arrived and was stone cold. Took it to the counter and the staff were amenable and said they would get him another one. When it returned to the table, it was the same stottie only slightly warmer. We know this because he had taken the tea bag out of his cuppa and placed it on the side of the plate before realising the stottie was cold… he removed the teabag before handing the stottie back but the stain was still on the ‘fresh’ plate when it returned 😅 we laughed about it but it put him off his food and my full breakfast wasn’t much better tbh.
