Parc Pantry Coffee & Kitchen — Restaurant in Newport

I went with my friend for a treat and our breakfast was awful. I’ve been here previously (a few years ago) and it’s always been high quality and really good. But it appears to have gone downhill. The eggs were very burnt and my friend had shell in hers. My bacon was pretty much raw on one side and burnt as hard as wood on the other and my eggs were also burnt. My friend had eaten about 2/3 of hers before finding egg shell so she was told she can’t have a refund because she had eaten too much, she explained that she didn’t start eating the egg and find the egg shell and how burnt it was underneath until then. I had only eaten about 1/4 of my food before finding and being put off by the issues. But they wouldn’t give me a refund either and they couldn’t say I had eaten too much of it so they didn’t even give me a real reason why I couldn’t have a refund. Their attitude towards us wasn’t great. They were immediately defensive and I got the vibe that they were told to refuse refunds no matter what. We were very polite about it and they acted like we were chancers and our reasons weren’t valid. The eggs were absolutely cremated and inedible. The manager tried to say that we should have said straight away when they brought it out… so my friend was supposed to find shell in her egg without touching the food? A lot of the issues were hidden until we started getting through it. We never complain when going out for food but it really was awful. It would have been nice if it was cooked properly and more care taken but it was cooked appallingly. Not what you expect when paying £10 for a breakfast that I couldn’t even eat. Will never...

Great food - Terrible service and atmosphere. Parc Pantry has a sign in the window saying ‘breastfeeding welcome’ however as a mum of a young child I have never felt more unwelcome. I came in alone juggling my toddler on my hip. As we were ordering there was only 1 table available, the waitress wrote down the table number on our order and said she could clear it for us, then as more new customers came in and sat down she laughed as she crossed it off our ticket leaving us nowhere else to sit but on the tall bench with a 1 year old. When I went back to the counter to say that it was not suitable for a young toddler, and we’d have to leave, there was no apology she just said she’ll change our order to take away. I then said as we were leaving that she should have said something to the new customers who took our table only to be told that they can’t ask anyone to move and we should’ve saved the table ourselves. Which was not possible as I was on my own with a toddler. I ended up eating my meal in tears in my car because there was nowhere I could actually sit down...

The food here is amazing, really enjoyed eating there and it’s in a very nice place where you are able to park and enjoy your food.

The General atmosphere I.e friendly staff and clean tables did not live to my expectations but that’s just me. Staff weren’t that friendly and you don’t get staff coming up to you and showing you to a free seat or getting you the menu (little thing I know but it does make you feel like you are welcomed in). I have read most of the reviews and they all state friendly staff but I honestly did not feel any of it

I did go back once more and left straight away due to the atmosphere again. With that said the food is very good here and you should go there and try it but if you care about the atmosphere and the way you’re welcomed in than maybe go...
