Visited tonight 12/06/19. First time in a good few years since we have been here. We walked in and it was reasonably busy. Stood at the bar for a few minutes before being told to sit anywhere we wanted. Would of been nice to be shown to a table, as then you feel like your wanted and valued as a customer. Ordered our meals at the bar, mixed grill and Signiture stacker burger. Waited approx 10 mins for these to be cooked, served and brought to our table. Seamed a bit quick to me. First thoughts, not many fries with the burger and burgers were bigger than the bun. Mixed grill, the chicken looked yellow to me. In fact I asked my wife why she had an omelette on her plate, that's how yellow it was! Although she said it tasted ok. My fries were soft with no crunch to them at all and were supposed to be seasoned, but had no seasoning on them at all. In fact I left about half of them. I opened up the burger to find 2 soggy onion rings with what was supposed to be cheese. This was the wafer thin packet cheese, that had shrivelled up and just looked like a piece of shrivelled up plastic. I scraped as much off as possible and left it on the side of the plate. The burgers them selves were just ok. They did have a slight taste of fire lighter fluid. The wife said her food was ok but had had better. We also had 2 large glasses of Dr Pepper. I was asked if we wanted ice, I said no, when served they were only filled to about an inch from the top, so not a full glass but if we had had ice they probably would of been full. Thank God we didn't have ice as the drinks were completely flat no fizz what so ever and I left half of mine as I couldn't stomach anymore of it. As one of the waitresess was rushing by she asked if everything was ok but by the time we answered she had already walked past us and just carried on with what she was doing. No disabled spaces so had to push up the steep car park before navigating the pot holes at bottom of ramp. No-one who saw us struggling to open the double doors offered to help.
We were then sat down by an older man with no pleasantries, just muttered "90 minutes with the table". He then returned a moment later to advise that he'd sat us at the wrong table and we'd need to move with no offer of help or apology.
After ordering my food in the app, my friend ordered his and the app advised that the order couldn't be placed and no money would be taken. I went to the bar to pay for his. Moments after getting back to the table with our drinks, two more drinks arrived apparently from the 'failed' app order. In fairness, the lady who dealt with this was very helpful and advised the app order would be refunded in a few days.
Food was decent with good portions. Both had burgers which were slightly overdone for our liking but tasty.
Upon leaving, we said thank you to the older gentleman on the way out before struggling with the double doors again because no-one offered any help, again.

Edit 2: A week later and the money that my friend was told would be back in his account is still nowhere to be seen. He finally managed to get through to the manager after several calls over 2 days and has been told to send proof of purchase, despite being told on the day that the refund had been processed there and then (and the order showing payment failed at the time as mentioned previously). Knocking this down to 1 star and won't be using the £10 voucher we received from customer relations or visiting any Greene King pubs again after...
Read moreCame here this evening for a family Christmas eve meal, booked a table weeks ago in advance for 5pm, arrived this evening for 4.50pm, to be told there was a wait until our table was available (which was fine as we were early) we bought drinks are were waiting at the bar. (5.10pm came, and asked the bar staff how long it would be, baring in mind there was 3 children waiting in the bar area with us and it was extremely busy and people were bumping into us, and was told we would have to wait for our table to become available. (Each table has 1hr 30mins to occupy, which your told when booking the table as its Christmas eve) so because it was extremely busy we waited outside in the smoking are. Time went by, kids were getting cold so we went back in and asked, but the table was finishing there meal. So went back out in the cold and waited, and waited. Eventually after waiting 35 mins in the cold, we were eventually seated, food order were rushed, the food, was nice and hot but then came desserts. My step son was still eating when staff asked if he was done because they needed the table for the next people (which he wasn't) and then came over each time to check he was done. In the end the next people who occupied the table stood over us waiting for the table, asking If we were finished pushing us off the table to get there family seated. We didn't even have the table for an hour, absolutely disgusted by the way we were treated. We come here so often for food and this will be the last time. Stop over booking and making people rush. No Christmas atmosphere what so ever all about money,...
