Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Newry, Mourne and Down District Council

Where do I start!! Avoid this place full stop!! Coffee and food were nice even though we were sitting in and got handed our coffee in takeaway cups!! Tables were absolutely filthy, asked a girl could she clean it down for us but she was more interested in gossiping with the people she works with and how her makeup looked. All the staff we rude except for the young man that gave us our tray. The dirty looks we got off the staff were shocking.. there is only one toilet and it has no lock. The toilet was absolutely disgusting and that is putting it politely. I informed them before I left about the toilet and she just rolled her eyes up and went into the store room...Manager needs to re think about their staff. How this place has passed audits and cleanliness...

I have attended on multiple occasions and have been happy with food, coffee, staff etc each time. Staff are always friendly. The big downside to me (that make it unlikely I will ever attend again) is the parking situation which is not actually managed by costa but is your only option if you want to visit costa. Parking restrictions are not clearly visible when entering the car park and signs are very small. When I overstayed the limit I now find myself being harassed by the car park operator (Smart Parking) and on the receiving end of many threatening letters from Smart Parking asking that I pay them hundreds of pounds in "fines". What unwelcoming place and very rude staff. I was getting a cappuccino and was served by skinny, tall girl with dark,long hair put in a ponytail. Her badge was covered so I could see the name. Her face looked sour and she very abruptly asked " what do you want?". When I approached the counter again when I wanted to use the toilet and asked for access code, she barked "There is no toilet".

I sat and observed her service and she was rude to the other 2 girls, who were making coffee.

It is hard to believe that people like that are getting employed. Very disappointed and dissatisfied with service....
