B&Q Newry — Local services in Newry, Mourne and Down District Council

A few months ago I went to buy some doors. I was buying 8 and they only had 6 in stock. When I tried to order the addition two doors I was told they wouldn't do Click & Collect for them (which made no sense as Click & Collect is a massive part of B&Q's service). They also wouldn't deliver to my house because I live 5 minutes over the border between the North and Republic of Ireland (A total of 15 mins from their nearest store). I e-mailed their customer service to see if there was anything could be done and got an extremely unsatisfactory reply that basically said "tough". I mean, they have stores in the south, its not like they are exclusively in the UK.

It took me a while to decide to use their store again but last week I decided to order some wallpaper via their Click & Collect. The website says allow 2 days for delivery to N.I. When I placed my order it was a Thursday afternoon (27th Feb) and I received notification it would be in store available to collect from 6pm the following Monday. I didn't mind that, however, when I called after 6pm on Monday I was told "oh don't mind those notifications, they aren't very accurate, but the order will be in Wednesday at the latest". Why give me a specific time, to the hour, if they have no intention of keeping to it...

I called again (over a week since the order was placed) and I was told it's not there and they'll "call me when it's in". No sign of it and no clue when...

A very well packed DIY and gardening outlet. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable regarding stock positions and uses. They are happy to assist in getting the product you need and even suggesting alternatives ( sometimes better ones) . The store is well laid out and signed for ease of selection of products. The gardening area is large with plants, landscaping materials and garden sheds etc. They also have a large selection of pots and garden compost. Staff are happy to assist with heavy or bulky objects. Tools of all types are available with a good range of rechargeable tools of varying prices from tradesman to hobby style. They have kitchen and bathroom displays with computer assisted designing staff willing to help. Check out staff are pleasant and helpful and more tills are opened...

Disgusting. Youngsters working in there cant help my mother buy 33m2 of Turf Grass. Website - disgusting. Does not go by pass checkout, even though it shows that the item is only available for delivery for our 2 addresses. Customer service over telephone? Disgusting. Hangs up on me. No hate, just facts. Cheers. P.S. Reminds me when I went to buy 1m of rope in there, customer service left me hanging for 15 minutes, came back after 30 minutes leaving to a different shop as they neglect me - still werent there and didnt have a clue what I'm on about. Not recommended. Just like KFC in Newry,...
