Amazing food. We love coming here though not as often as id like as its hard to get child minders. Not sure it would suit young children but definately a place for couples to have an evening away with great food and atmosphere. No feeling of being rushed and the food was served very promptly. I had the seafood chowder which was great and my wife had the fish cakes which also went down well. I had monkfish for main as i wanted to try something different and wasnt disappointed. It tasted delicious. Great choice on the menu but as the name suggests it mostly seafood though there is steak on the menu too. Great choice of drinks as well. I reccomend the local apple juice for something other than coke and it complemented the fish well. I will definitely be back. Bit more expensive than ur local restaurant but well worth it for the experience and quality of service and food. Thanks

If you want fresh and tasty fish and chips this place is a must. We went with another family and all loved it. I had the scampi which was extremely fresh and in a light batter. We also had the peri peri squid which was delicious. There are non fish options good with a kids menu. The kids breaded chicken tenders were very good. There’s a lovely warm fire in the first room and also plenty of bigger tables for larger parties in the other room. We also enjoyed the Chablis which went extremely well with the fish. Worth the treat!

Nice restaurant but I prefer their other one in Belfast. Not sure that the takeaway fish and chips is a good idea. Are they a restaurant or takeaway? I feel the takeaway was putting the kitchen under pressure. Our main course was slow to arrive and the woman at the table beside us was quite irate about the slow service. The food was excellent though, I had mussels to start followed by Haddock and chips. My wife had the monkfish which she thought was very tasty. Well worth a visit if you’re on a day trip to Newcastle.

An Absolute Disgrace! The Worst Restaurant Experience!!

This experience was without a doubt, the worst restaurant I have ever had the misfortune of dining in. From start to finish, the experience was defined by dishonesty, rudeness, and a complete lack of professionalism.

When we arrived, we were told by our waitress that the only steak/ non-fish option on the menu was unavailable..the last one had supposedly just been sold. So without any othet choice, we opted for a vegetarian dish. When it arrived, it was not as described and contained ingredients that should not have been there. We had to send it back which was disappointing.

As we finished our poor meals, the table next to us who arrived 30 minutes after us were served a steak. Naturally, we asked the manager named Chris, about this inconsistency. What followed was one of the most horrible displays of arrogance and disrespect I have ever encountered in hospitality.

Chris told us that the customer who received the steak was a "regular" and that we should have pre-ordered the steak in advance. Nowhere on their website, social media, or anywhere on the menu does it state that a pre-order is required.

When we expressed our frustration at being misled, Chris proceeded to explain he doesn't see it our way rather than acknowledge the restaurant’s mistake and treating us unfairly.

Soon we realised that the person who received the steak was actually Chris's friend and when we brought this to Chris's attention, his friend got up from his seat and began to verbally abuse us. Instead of stepping in to de-escalate the situation or apologising for the unfair treatment, the management team had the audacity to say this is not their fault or could not do anything about their other 'friend' customer.

This was not just a bad dining experience, it was outright humiliating.

The level of unprofessionalism, dishonesty, and hostility we encountered was beyond unacceptable. This restaurant operates with zero integrity and actively mistreats customers. Avoid at all costs.

If you value fairness, respect, and basic customer service, stay far away from Mourne Seafood.

This is, without question, the worst restaurant I have ever...

dundrum bringing friends as me and my partner usually love the food and atmosphere. we were told initially there was no steak left, knowing steak was on the menu I reassured my friend who does not eat seafood they could enjoy a nice steak. we were told on ordering that there was no steak left. during our meal we then noticed a later arriving guest with a steak delivered with their main meals. when questioning the owner Chris on this he advised this person was a regular and had pre ordered steak. we advised we were not aware we could pre order and he said no this customer was a regular and had called ahead. no apology offered. coctails arrived to the table which had to be returned and we were told 'the barman is in training'. a full bill of £212 was presented without even an acknowledgement or apology . the managers friend then approached our table to tell us how uncomfortable they were we raised the complaint about the steak it ruined his meal and he stated 'I'm here every month I pay their bills'. the manager at no time interjected or apologised and was only a table away when his friend approached my party. soo dissapointed in a place where I've been regularly and was looking forward to sharing a nice meal and experience with friends. to be thrown out at the end of an already poor experience was very dissapointing only because the manager was challenged. I payed the bill because I appreciate business and have respect... self respect. I encourage the owner of mourne seafood dundrum to find the same respect for his product and experience for customers. Chris then told one of my friends when leaving 'get out of my resturaunt'. unless your a regular...

We really enjoyed our Friday night dinner here with friends. The food was so tasty and affordable with great variety. We got a lot of different dishes that were all really good, oysters, risotto, linguine, sea bass..The atmosphere is great too. One thing that let it down was how long it took to get served our food. We were 30 minutes seated before getting a drink, an hour before getting a starter and overall we spent close to three hours before we finished because the service was slow with food coming out. It was hard to even get water. I don’t blame the staff - they were lovely and really competent. It seemed like a management issue where they were understaffed. They apologised at the very end, clearly aware of the issue, but they really should have given us at least a coffee or 10% discount to reflect this, which would have been fair. Hopefully the restaurant see this and make changes or empower the staff to react when there are issues. Yet, I notice this appears to be pattern from some...
