Sunday morning 19/11/24. After a long walk over the broads we decided to grab a coffee for the walk back.

Totally confused by the signage. The sign at the door says "Order takeaways from the serving hatch" But the serving hatch displays a sign that says "Come on in, we're open" ??

So we waited at the hatch, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, 4 minutes. Nothing.

Decided to go in and ask if we could order inside? Nobody in the queue inside, instructed by the lady on the till to wait outside. So back outside we went, I rang the bell at the serving hatch, ignored for a full 6 or 7 minutes. Still nobody in the queue inside. Again, I rang the bell, this time quite loudly which seemed to make a few of the staff standing around jump!

Finally someone opened the hatch. The lady stated very abruptly "You can come inside to order coffee" to which I explained we'd been in and asked and was told to go back to the hatch, where we'd been standing for over 10 minutes now. To which she replied very sharply "We're very busy sir" I again looked at the counter, still nobody in the queue. I replied "Yea, it looks busy" To which she said "Do you want coffee or not"? again very sharply. I declined the invitation as I thought her attitude would curdle the milk.

So we went next door, Flour & Bean where it did seem very busy but the staff were friendly & efficient and the coffee delicious.

I refuse to be ignored & spoken to like a child while trying to spend money at your...

Me and my friend reserved a table, which was ready when we arrived. We were seated straight away and offered tea or coffee. We chose Decaf tea, which arrived very quickly in a teapot for 2. The tea filled 4 cups, then we were given another teapot after, from another staff member. All staff were friendly and helpful. We had reserved a table for afternoon tea (see pictures for food and look). The food was exceptional. The amount of food given and the quality - can't fault any of it. (When booking they ask what type of sandwich you would like and if there are any dietary requirements). The cafe was nicely decorated and clean. The seats were comfortable and there was a lot of natural light. The price was reasonable and would go back. There is a free large car park across the road to park in (not sure if you have to go into Lathams whilst there, but we did anyway). There is also a nice walk to do nearby and cute ducks outside. The cafe also sells duck-food for 75p per bag, so you can also feed all the ducks (which we also did). The place is easy to find and has an easily accessible entry and easy to get around when...

i came here for a spot of dinner & my family had two afternoon teas. the afternoon tea was absolutely beautiful looking, my family said it topped their list of best afternoon teas and i have to agree! they had large sandwiches of which you can tell are compiled of locally sourced bread & fillings; crisps, salad & coleslaw; their cheese & fruit scones arrived warm and baked to perfection (hearty sized also!); homemade sausage rolls with locally bought chutney; little packages of cheese; jam & clotted cream along with fresh strawberries and grapes. the price for the buffet compared to the quality is incredible, not to mention the tea & coffee served was also gorgeous (i’m a huge tea fan and that was a lush pot of it). i had two vegan sausage rolls which were better than anything i’ve tasted before, alongside some home cooked chips 🤤 my sister topped it all off by ordering a kinder bueno cake and wow….it looked beautiful! all in all, the staff were so lovely and helpful with my vegan questions, the restaurant was clean and lovingly accessorised, and we cannot wait to...
