Flour & Bean — Restaurant in North Norfolk

Returned here whilst on holiday having had a very positive experience in May 2022 but, overall, we were disappointed today. Although we were outside the breakfast times, we asked if our 2 year old could possibly have scrambled egg on toast but were told this wasn't on the lunch menu - we were offered fried egg but not to a 2 year olds liking. Disappointing response as both types of egg would have similar cooking times. The Old Mill in Wroxham yesterday were more than happy to oblige us with the same request and asked if our toddler would like anything else too. Baguette filling (pastrami, Swiss cheese, pickles) was not as plentiful or as tasty as last time although filled sandwiches were as good as last year. One of our party ( 6 + 1 toddler) ordered a burger and was told it would take 'some time'. In the end we waited at least 30 minutes for 3 sandwiches, 2 baguettes, fish fingers and 1burger; we were on the verge of leaving. We went to this cafe as a family of 4 adults and 3 children, we had to sit on 2 different tables (not a problem at all) a waiter took my daughter and son in laws order straight away but even though we were sat on the very next table, we couldn't order together as the waiter wasn't covering our table, we waited over 25 minutes, a waitress finally came over and we were told they were no longer serving hot food! So 2 adults and 1 child got a meal but because the waitress took so long to serve us, 2 adults and 2 children didn't get a meal, little ones were so upset. The menu on the table states that breakfast menu finishes at 2.30,however when I tried to order scrambled egg on toast I was told at the till that at breakfast menu ended at 11.30 and I arrived at 12 o’clock, I tried to order a sausage and egg muffin but was told they had no muffins,I then tried to order a bacon roll to be told that they run out of rolls,reluctantly I took the offer of a bacon sandwich,bad choice as the bacon was so hard and overcooked that I was concerned about my teeth, I took this sandwich back to the counter and was then offered an apology and a bacon and cheese toastie ,then I got more over cooked bacon and burnt toast.I would never recommend anyone...
