Beautiful riverside pub with views and extensive beer garden. Spent Tuesday evening here with friends while on a boating holiday. Moored our boat stern on at the bottom of the beer garden and paid £15 for an overnight stay. We spent the evening in the pub, having drinks and food. I had Prawn and Squid and a portion of chunky chips in lieu of a main course. One of my friends had linguine, the others had the burger with Monterey Jack cheese and bacon. My Squid and Prawns were sublime, although a couple of my chunky chips were undercooked and slightly crunchy. My friends all enjoyed their food. We all thought it was great value. Service was friendly and efficient. I ordered food using their app, but later uninstalled the app from my phone, as Norton Anti Virus suggested that it may be unsafe. We joined in Tuesday night's free pub bingo and one of my friends won a free drink, the other a £10 voucher. Friendly clientele and the regulars who were there to play bingo also made us feel very welcome. Many had brought their dogs of various breeds and sizes who were beautifully behaved and were happy to also have bit of a pat from a stranger. Great place, fun evening. Will definitely come back again.

We managed to grab a table without booking (Sunday 3pm, September) but told we had to vacate by 5 as was reserved for later which was fine. Plenty of menus on tables promoting the Sunday roast. Alas, when we ordered they were all gone. Shame but can I suggest they remove those menus once roasts are sold out? Still, we ate off the main menu and the food was lovely and drinks were great at a good price. They were helpful with a ramp for my mums wheelchair which was good, but 3 of us had to help her in the toilet. They don't have dedicated disabled toilets which is fine, but the toilets they do have need hand rails. My sister mentioned this to them and they seemed to take note. Hopefully they do. All in all a great place, great location and would definitely visit again. We were not on a boat but if you are, what a great place to stop.

A lovely little waterside pub with parking. Reasonably priced good food, plenty of seating indoors and out. I sat in the little bay window seat in the photo and and enjoy watching all the boat coming and goings. This place is a people watchers delight. (So were the large sausage rolls - I had seconds! ). Their 'harbour master' did a brilliant job helping incompetent hired boat holiday makers to dock on the pubs own mooring. How does he stay so patient? Fun for the kids? There's enough to amuse them including cheap arcade machines. The manager and staff were friendly, efficient and made me feel I was a valued customer, unlike some other establishments in the area. If you want to eat in the Wroxham/Staithes area then this is the place to go. And the bar serves Ghost Ship! What more could you ask for?

My family and i have had a very disappointing experience with the new in at horning. We prebooked moorings and a table for 9 on a sunday as we wanted to enjoy a sunday lunch. We booked the table for 3pm. On arrival we were greeted with a very cocky lad who was more interested in taking our money than ensuring the boats were moored safely and correctly. We paid for an overnight mooring with electric.

We then went into the pub for food. We were seated in the conservatory right next to the main entrance. Not long after we were seated we were told " oh bad news we are out of roast dinners". This annoyed us all the pub advertised sunday lunch from 12pm to 6pm and 3 hours into service they didnt have any. Our main reason for attending the pub was for the sunday lunch. We then had to pick from a very minimal list of alternative food as it was their sunday menu which was centred around sunday lunches. The food come out very slowly, by the time everyone had their food some had already finished ( we said to start eating otherwise their food would be cold if we waited for everyone's to come out). The food presented to us was thrown together and was basically cheap frozen crap. The price for the food were given was extortionate.

In all honestly we should have walked out as soon as we were told there was no roast but we had already paid for mooring that was aggressively demanded from us ( and to behonest we didnt think we would get refunded for it). The pub should have rung us earlier in the day when they run out to give us the option to still attend or make alternative arrangements or to find out how many of us were having roasts so they could have reserved the right amount.

It was a very embarrassing experience for my husband and I as we had visited the pub the year before and was very happy with food and service.

We most defintly will not be going to the pub again and not be recommending the pub to friends and family and when asked by others we will be advising...

We arrived at this establishment today for a late lunch and wish we choose drove further down to the swan inn. When we arrived I asked if they were still serving food which the young chap said they did up til 2:45 which gave us 20mins. When ordering I asked for the two kids burger meal to be patty and bun as they do not like sauce, lettuce etc. After ordering the meals we then started to order our drinks when a very abrupt women said to order drinks at the bar, however the young man had already put the orders through the till. She rudely asked us what drinks we ordered and grudgingly served them to us, she even doubled checked that we ordered two kids meals as the carton of orange was free with the meal. The food arrived the prawn jacket potato was swimming in what look like milk but assume it was from the Marie sauce. Followed by the two kids meal, well, just two burgers. The women was walking passed and I mentioned that the kids meal on the menu states the above came with chips etc. As the receipt was not itemised I wasnt sure if we paid for the meal or just two burgers, she abruptly toke the menu off me started reading the description and abruptly told me to come with her (the only way I can describe this is like a school girl being summoned to the head office) I followed and she wanted to know who I gave my order to and the young man said their must of been a miss communication between him and the kitchen as I asked for the burgers to be plain. He asked what I wanted and I just said chips will do and not to worry about anything else. However, the chips arrive extremely quickly and where inedible. We did get a apology but it didnt sound sincere. After this I didn't feel that I could express my thoughts of my jacket potato. I'm in shock on how intimidating and unwelcoming certain this visit made us feel, hence my only ever review at this late night. There is literally no need to speak to people in a rude manner, feel intimidated...

The good, the staff were absolutely amazing, extremely helpful and very polite. The young man assisting those mooring was very friendly and helpful.

We had frequented this place regularly on previous holidays, it was always fantastic in service, price and quality. So didn't hesitate to reserve our spot for a quiet evening meal.

The rest..

For 2 of us it was £92 we had in total 4 drinks and 2 steak dinners with a dessert. The steak dinner alone was £24.50 each and was supposed to consist of steak, chips, salad and home cooked coleslaw.

Well the steak wasn't cooked properly (each to their own) the salad was 3 little bits of lettuce a rocket leaf and a cherry tomato cut in half. The chips were very salty and soggy and the homemade coleslaw never appeared.

Service was slow, and it wasn't particularly busy. Having worked in the catering industry for many years I sympathise that times have been challenging and skill fade may be an issue, but skills up and leaving, there's no excuse for.

We arrived for our booking at 7 and after 8 we received our meal, people that had entered after us were eating and leaving before us. Sadly others around us were waiting almost 2 hours for service.

There was no healthy options available and everything had chips with it. (Not everyone likes chips with every meal)

In my opinion it's poor quality and poor value for money, we won't be returning.

I certainly wouldn't recommend it if you have children as the wait will be agonising if the children are hungry.

Oh and there's a 12.% gratuitous charge on every transaction. I never object to paying for a good service, but do expect it...
