I dont really go to Costa often...although do love the festive drinks at Costa, my favourite is the black forest hot chocolate, and my daughter loves the mango cooler (which I think tastes like a solero) its lovely...im not a fan of their cakes, they always look good, but I'm always dissapointed....they tend to be dry, even when it's early and they should be fresh. I do feel the food is highly priced for what it is to be honest. I'd rather go to a small independent coffee shop. I think food wise the best thing they do is the mac and cheese and their mince pies.

Dropped the shop at the end to keep up with the locals here. Very friendly.

Purposely make an 18 mile round trip as this is the best Costa for miles around. What a great, friendly, happy and attractive team, too. They genuinely love working there such that they leave, then come back, and you'll regularly see them there on their days off. True service with a smile... Example; visited with the Mother-in-Law who is ridiculously, annoyingly fussy (to the point where she could easily be found lifeless at the bottom of the stairs surrounded by marbles). First, the sandwich she ordered she asked to be taken back and cut into fours, then when that was brought back she asked for more milk. Not a sign of a scowl or gritted teeth from the staff member, just a happy-to-help smile (clearly, they don't know her as well as I do!) Nothing seems to be too much...

Not all Costa’s are equal and this is one place to benchmark others against. It’s made possible by a lovely team who work very hard, are highly skilled and clearly enjoy each others company as they work together so well. Its always a busy place but you get served quickly and can usually find a table. It all sounds so simple but you only have to visit other cafes to see this...
