The Old Bakery Cafe — Restaurant in North Warwickshire

We went for English breakfast on recommendation and after reading the very positive reviews. We are usually easy to please but there were so many little disappointments that we feel we have to share them. First there is no board with the food and drinks options, the menu is handed out when you sit down. We thought the breakfast options were pricy, even more so when we found out that the hot drinks were not included. The amount of milk served with the tea was ridiculously small and certainly didn’t stretch to two cups. No complaints about the food, it was ok, good but nothing special. We didn’t think the quality of service was exceptional, the place was busy and seemed well staffed. Waiting time was reasonable. Most importantly for us and noteworthy or potential customers is the absence of customer toilets on the premises. Forget about even washing your hands before eating after you’ve done your shopping in town. Seated straight away. Served drinks within 10 minutes and once these were delivered we ordered food. Nothing too tasking. Ham egg and chips. But too wait 50 minutes for it takes the biscuit. My drink was completely gone by time it arrived and I seriously was about to get up and go. I even ordered bread and butter at the time of ordering but it was delivered almost as I'd finished my dinner. !!!! Noone apologises about the time waited. And I told the waitress that I wasn't happy this time with the length of time I waited . The food has always been of a high standard but it ain't worth waiting 50 minutes for. Possibly the worst breakfast I've eaten which is a shame because they are normally lovely waited 40 mins for a plate covered in tomato water eg was burnt underneath but slimy ontop bacon like cardboard and cold black pudding was scared with the grill then left to sit in the horrible greasy water all over the plate paid at the end server said if you'd said something I'd of swapped it which is great but wasn't waiting another 40 mins then on way out noticed every plate on the tables that was left was pretty much half or 3/4 full of food...
