Cafe at the museum — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

Arrived at 15:15 with many customers still in to be told it was only serving tea and coffee with tray bakes. The closing time is 4pm and with elderly company present who were only after soup, sandwich or stew something small this was not ideal and we left. We had family over from across seas and were greatly disappointed in the customer service levels as it was very embarrassing. I have also been in earlier and was put off due to comments from a member of staff trying to push customers out before closing time and was very loud in stating that she had a child to collect. There was other members of staff who could’ve closed to let her get away again customer service was shocking and we were made to feel uncomfortable due to the atmosphere created by staff. I have been in on more than 4 occasions and seen this occur and it’s extremely off putting.

The two stars is for cleanliness.

Also furthermore it is illegal to look at customers on cctv without their consent. We were told by the young girl with fair hair that it was tea and coffee on Tuesday as the hot food was stopped. Yet you have stated it closed for hot food at half 3 we were in before half 3 and still should have been offered as you have clearly stated. We were not offered sandwiches at all either. We have our own business and have had to stay behind after closing hours this is part of owning a business. The only customers who are treated fairly are the regulars and this should not be the case regardless of how often you are there everyone should be treated the same. The wife told me about this place & we pass it regularly, so finally got the chance to go & I am so glad we did... When we opened the door the smell of food hits you & you see how cosy the cafe actually is.

The place was busy with customers & we were greeted by staff who seated us really quickly, we were given plenty of time to choose what we wanted & the staff were very helpful & lovely.

The drinks came very quickly & I can recommend the flat white coffee as this was delicious, creamy & just what I needed that afternoon.

The food was just amazing, it was all hot & the wife's soup was steaming. My club sandwich was hot, crispy & delicious.

The atmosphere is lovely, it was quiet & the music was a small radio in the background that you could hear if you concentrated so was great when having a conversation.

The staff came to the table to ask if everything was okay & not overbearing in any way, they were friendly, chatty & very helpful.

Standards well and truly have slipped , prices are up 6.95 small fry 10.95 large fry , sausages deep fried, bacon half cooked could of fitted on a side plate, certainly not the same staff who brighten up the place,new chef or cook , radio blaring out,staff wandering about singing with the voices of staff trying to talk over it.did hear a few FFS coming out from kitchen area and someone I hadn't seen before came and whisked our plates away so quickly without uttering a word,defo well down in my estimation.will now let me feet down the talking.18.20 for two small Fry's and two teas certainly get better...
