Ordered the lemon gateau for a birthday party and everyone said it was delicious. I found the staff were exceptionally friendly too. They also have a useful website so very satisfied all round and will use again.

Absolutely stunning birthday cake, made exactly how I requested it. Such attention to detail and just delicious, it was perfect! (FAO: edible daisies added by myself, not included in order)

Absolutely fantastic Cara got me out of trouble with the family as I was late yesterday to get the best cake in Belfast. Popcorn also says thank you thank you for my egg

I had ordered my wedding cake from FV last year and it was absolutely beautiful in detail but being the bride, I was so busy I never actually managed to eat my own wedding cake (I heard it was amazing however), so I ordered a birthday cake for my daughters birthday party yesterday and it was the most amazing cake I’ve ever eaten!! Everyone loved it, the jam was the perfect tartness and the buttercream was sweet to compliment it, the sponge itself was the softest cake I’ve ever eaten. Plus the piped inscription was beautifully done and placed. The price was amazing and very competitive to mainstream stores for cakes as you get a very good sized cake and it is all freshly made (much better tasting and presented than shop bought)

The store itself is well kept, clean, and an overall good atmosphere as the staff are very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely order again for any cake- based...

We had french village do the catering for our wedding and cannot reccomend them enough. Zsolt was extremely easy to work with - he was very organised and clear in emails which is invaluable when you are organising a wedding. We had sharing style food at the wedding - small plates to start and then rib on the bone which was carved at the tables for the mains. The food was amazing and several people said it was the best food they had had at a wedding. I won't reveal the details but they also suggested a surprise for when the food was served which provided lots of entertainment and really added to the relaxed feel of the meal. They also had black plates at no extra cost, which made all my pinterest...

Eating at French Village Bakery can be a mixed bag. I'm giving four stars as it's usually better than not, but removing one for a wonky breakfast. Evening food is well considered - good salads and Bang Bang Chicken is a favourite. Staff are uniformly pleasant and engaging.

However, breakfast can be hit and miss. My £7 Avocado on Toast was a weird combination of very cold pre-prepared avocado mush (more like guacamole than avocado toast) with undercooked poached eggs (the whites were sloppy). For £7, I think it's not crazy to expect buttered toast with freshly sliced/crushed avocado, a staple elsewhere. Lesson learned, will pick a fry-up next time. Even good places need feedback to develop...
