Greggs — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

I called into Greggs yesterday afternoon to buy a 4-pack of sausage rolls. Ahead of me was a family group of around 4 people who were selecting drinks, and discussing the meal deals. A very young girl who was with them seemed undecided on her drink choice, so after grabbing my pre-packed item, went straight to the till to pay. The young chap who was assisting them, was telling them about the meal deal options, and as I was behind them, was fine with needing to wait. However once they got their order and walked away, I was completely ignored, and a new couple walked in through the door and were greeted and asked what they'd like.

I then said, "my friend I am waiting here to just pay for these", he replied I needed to queue the other side. I explained that the people ahead of me were still deciding, and as I only had 1 pre-packed item, surely it was ok to head directly to the till?? To that, a red haired(long hair)older member of staff piped up from behind the counter and quite abruptly told me she had indeed noticed me there, but I now needed to join the back of the queue - which by this stage was half a dozen people. Then, the young chap who was originally there, said ahh I see - that's ok, I will take you now. The transaction took seconds as I paid via tapping my phone, and smiled at him. In the background I could see the red head woman giving me daggers.

I actually recall her actually serving me a while ago, and can remember she was quite unpleasant on that occasion too. I think she ought to perhaps go on a wee course to improve her customer service which is clearly lacking.😶

Such a shame that a good place like Gregg's has such a person engaging with customers, but sure hey.

Called into Greggs Coleraine again & was so disappointed! Vegan sausage rolls, the very product that Greggs have been famous for in recent years but they had none ready! No vegan bake slices ready either! The previous week I asked very clearly, for a vegan slice & was given a chicken slice! If you are unable to get the basics right , then you need to ask yourself if the correct management & staff are suitable to work in this store? I'll be kind & give 3 stars, only because working with the public can't be easy. Though this store needs an overhaul!

Latest: Tried the new vegan sausage, bean & cheese melt. Absolutely delicious, well done Greggs. The usual story though! You need to watch the servers like a hawk, as despite clearly saying you would like the vegan one, they always rustle you up the regular one! Everytime I'm in, they serve me the meat version and I have to tell them to change it! Perhaps they are all cloth eared or don't particularly give a **! 😬

25th Nov 2021: The usual low stock of many items & the very last straw today! No hot drinks available, because they had no lids for cups! It's absolutely pathetic! Who is the store merchandiser here? Good coffee and love the apple turnovers but the tables and floor are always so dirty and disposal area is far too small. This is not just Coleraine, but Belfast Castle Lane is always dirty too. If they weren't good value I wouldn't go in. Clean up your act introduce mugs and it would be much better. I have since complained to the company and I have seen an improvement in the cleanliness. However, I noticed this week that leaves were gathering at the outside sitting area and no attempt was being made to clean them up and the area looked terrible. They also need to keep the outside tables clean at all times as looks terrible for people passing by and would put them off going in. If they can't manage the outdoor space they would be better to do away with it. It is on the cold side of the street anyway, so you would be brave and hardy to sit there most days.
