Smoke BBQ ltd — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

First time going there and lm already looking forward to the next time.Great atmosphere(I preferred the two people table we sat in coz it has cushioned chairs) only downer was the bench style sitting coz l personally find those uncomfy but everything about the place overshadowed this. Another thing is that the 5 meat platter that we wanted to try was not available as the short rib and sausage were out of stock. Their chips are the best chips lv ever tasted since l moved to this side of the world,l almost didnt want to have anything else.My parnter had a burger with 3 meats and ooh lawdy it was amazing ,mine had pulled pork also nice but the other one was waaay nicer.We also had tacos, the salsa was on top and lm not a fan of tomatos,took them home with me and 2 days later my daughter is still talking about them.THEN we had the WINGS with citrus sauce....this is the first thing lm ordering each and everytime l go back.Staff were all amazing.Overall my new favourite spot.Sorry for the long review but this one deserved it

Visit update 23/2/25- so l went back today and received burnt chicken,when l informed the lady serving us she just said sorry guys.So l ordered a 3meat combo but got only 2 of the meat as edible as one was burnt and not edible

Visit update19/5/25-I was hesitant about writing a review again but l got 3 emails asking me to so here goes

My friends and l went back to give them a try after our last visit.Overall we enjoyed ourselves. One thing l wont fault them on is the flavour of their food.Everytjing was cooked to perfection. I will reiterate that their wings and chips are by far the best ok this side of the world and will always go back for them.The lady who was assisting us was really friendly and welcoming(lm sorry l didnt catch her name).We got complimentary drinks and a percentage off as returning customers which we were happy about.Only downer to the day was a lady who came over to give us the bill(she had braided hair), she was a bit brush ajd made it seem like we do not have a choice on tipping and literally looked annoyed at us.We asked her to cone back later.But luckily the lady who had initially served us came back and like l said she was nice so we had no further issues. So apologies for adding a slight negative but the feeling about the rude lady was unanimous (after she left) so l thought yo mention it.But all in all avery positive experience and we absolutely loved the food and Smoke remains our favourite...

Tried here a few nights ago as we had heard so many people raving about it, so we were very excited to try it. Plus we love being able to support new, local food businesses. The wait ended up being an hour and 15 minutes, which we didn't mind so much as we knew how popular it was and we thought that it would be worth it based on other people's reviews. The service was great and the store looked lovely but unfortunately we ended up being really disappointed in the food. The beef brisket burger I got had the wrong sauce on it and had chopped pickles on it that tasted of lemon (which was not mentioned on the menu listing, if it had been I would have asked for them not to be on it as courgette overpowers everything) which seems strange to have on a beef brisket burger anyway, so that's why I never thought to ask not have veg on it, let alone pickles. But despite the sauce not being what I asked for, I tried it anyway to give it a shot but it was so spicy I couldn't even finish one half of the burger. And even if it had the BBQ sauce I asked for on it, the brisket felt kinda tough anyway.

The other orders we got were a chicken burger, the posh corn and corn bread, and dirty fries. The chicken burger and dirty fries seemed to be nice although the fries were verging on soggy but the posh corn and corn bread had so much parmesan on them that there was massive clumps of it on both, so it was all you could taste. Even when you scraped most of it off, it just tasted of parmesan so we only had one or two bites of both before we couldn't finish either.

We would have come back to put a complaint in but at this point it was almost 8.30pm and we didn't want to have to wait longer to get the food fixed or for new food to be made. I wish we had gotten the ribs instead as they had been raved about but you still hope that all the food on the menu will be good. I totally get it was busy but we paid £45 for food that over half of it we couldn't eat.

Seen some reviews on social media so decided to check it out. On arrival the staff seemed almost shocked that we hadn't booked, but gave us a table anyway.

Ordered the 3 meat combo, went for the Smoked Pork Sausage / Slathered Ribs / Smokey Beef Brisket with sides of Parmesan Fries & BBQ Beans.

The Smoked Pork Sausage was oddly the best part, great flavour & exactly what you expect. The Slathered Ribs were fairly poor if I'm honest. The sauce was great but the meat itself wasn't. Very tough to cut & chew, ended up trying to cut the meat off the bone which was a bit of effort. The Smokey Beef Brisket should honestly be renamed The Peppered Beef Brisket. The meat was very well cooked and juicy, but was rubbed to death in black pepper. The pepper completely overpowered any kind of bbq/smokey flavours.

The Parmesan Fries were average, well cooked but that was about it, not much flavour otherwise - even from the Parmesan. The BBQ Beans arent what you expect, almost like a 'tomatoey salsa beans' sort of mix with onions & peppers, no meat in sight which seems to be becoming the norm with "BBQ Beans" so I might have been expecting too much there, but they were alright, just don't expect them to be BBQ. Advice to owners: Throw a couple of burnt ends in the mix when your making a big pot & ditch the kidney beans.

Overall, excellent value for money as only £40 for the lot. Could comfortably do 3 people, especially if you're not big eaters. I'd put it middle of the road as far as bbq spots go, it definitely wasn't bad but also wasn't great. I'd prob give it another go at some point in case they were having an off night.
