Very disappointed and sadly won't be back. My husband and I went to the fuzzy beak for the first time 3 weeks ago and enjoyed a lovely meal, good service and were very impressed. We returned this evening with our daughter and were extremely disappointed. Our reservation was for 6.15pm. We arrived at 6.10pm and were shown through to a table in the conservatory area. The waitress brought us water for the table and we looked at the menu and made our choices. We had difficulty trying to get someone's attention to take our order. Eventually a waitress arrived and took the order. I have to say the restaurant was not busy at all the whole time we were there. By 7pm our meal had still not arrived. Spent 5 minutes trying to get a waitress attention and asked how long it was likely to take. She went into the kitchen and returned to say that we were next and it shouldn't be too much longer and that there was a backlog in the kitchen. Again, very few people in the restaurant so we found this a little unbelievable. At 7.10pm we had all agreed we were about to leave when the waitress returned to say our meal was being plated and wouldn't be long. We were all feeling flat and frustrated at this point and eventually the meal arrived. The food was nice but we all ate in silence and really just wanted to leave. The experience was very disappointing. When paying I was asked if everything was alright. I said that it was except for the very long wait. Her reply was "but was the food ok"? There was no effort to apologise and no discount offered so really no point in asking if everything was alright. We had looked forward to our meal out all week and were all frustrated, disappointed and happy to leave to be honest. Sadly...

Fuzzy Beak / Extremely Weak.

This pains me to say as I know how brave a move it is to open a new hospitality venture at present. It was so good to hear the old Bentra premises were going to reopen and was looking forward to having my Birthday meal here. Unfortunately from the very start the whole episode was a hugely disappointing Experience. We had booked for 20.00 and arrived at 19.45. We were welcomed and told to take a seat in the waiting area only to be told by another waiter to follow him to our table in the conservatory. Our table was not set up which seemed to surprise him so we were shown to another table with a used napkin on a chair. We then waited 15 minutes to order drinks which eventually arrived. Another wait ensued of 15 minutes before our meal order was taken then we waited and waited, no one came near us, no explanation, no asking if we would like more drinks or even a jug of water. At 20.55 we had enough and decided to leave. At the bar after another wait because the card machine had broken, why only one machine, no back up, we explained to who I think was the manager what had occurred who was extremely apologetic and visibly annoyed by our experience and waived the cost of our drink each. Had no training been given to the waiting staff? Was there no one in charge on the floor? Plenty of floor staff but a major failing in service. I so wanted this new enterprise to be good , but a major disappointment and hearing from a table of four across from us who were extremely disappointed in both starters and main courses does not enspire...

I have been waiting to go here since u opened. Today 30/10/22 Sunday eventually the phone was answered and free at time we requested...I could not wait! Well got there and seated 5.10pm...drinks order took straight away..no draught or quarter bottles of wine??. Anyhow ordered cors and chardonnay...got some stinking wine and peroni???? Not wot we asked for?? Ordered dinner which came out ..in 5-10 minutes. Never have I been in a restaurant a nd had my meal served so quickly. Nx no salt coming out ..tried at least 3..no joy. Asked for water...twice before getting.. Water holder must have just been out of dishwasher as boiling to touch????? Meal just average...girl kept asking were we finished...did we want dessert? On a no.she said ..bill then? Brought bill and said pay at bar on way out. In all we were in 40/45mins and was £53 quid.. Sorry wont be back Found restaurant not very homely Staff..pushey Food average. Drinks rubbish selection No time to sit and relax and expensive. Seating in conservatory very close together. On paying we weren't even asked was everything ok for us. Just so disappointed in my visit.as...

Restaurant close to the one of the main attractions of the area -The Gobbins Cliff Walk . We ordered chicken wings, spicy chicken with flat bread and vegan "chicken" strips with sweet and sour sauce . All very tasty , just vegan option a bit too spicy for my taste. Waiting time was a little bit too long but the view from the windows made a waiting more pleasant . We left the place satisfied and felt well cared by the staff.

Good food, friendly and efficient service, nicely decorated eating area and a nice view over the local golf course. All of our food was tasty and interestingly presented. I really enjoyed the trio of lamb. The Shepard's pie was very tasty and I could eat a family sized one of these no problem! The food competition in Whitehead is hotting up but I think the Fuzzy Beak has what it takes to succeed!

I have been lucky to book in twice now first time was open night and then yesterday for Sunday dinner, staff are so friendly and food was fantastic on both occasions, party of 5 first night and romantic dinner for 2 the second night. Quantity and quality is top notch. On both occasions defiantly well worth a visit.
