Whilst the bar is lovely the bistro is not. Over priced and not exceptional in any way. Staff are lovely but that’s it… My daughter and grand kids were in portstewart for the weekend. Decided to go here as I remembered the steaks on the skewers that they used to do. Was surprised to find that they no longer did these but thought we would stay anyways. Ordered two burgers, two sides (extra) a kids meal, a pint of Guinness, a large coke and a dilute juice for the two grandkids… whilst the food was nice it was nothing to write home about. Having been in the ramore next door and thinking that’s the standard to expect, we were so looking forward to our meal here. We were so disappointed, it was a basic burger on a brioche bun with tobacco onions, no dressing or anything and the side was extra. The kids meal was also disappointing, whilst the goujons were proper chicken it was still not good value for money - £8.95 for kids dinner, no drink and no dessert which we assumed were included - no the cake and ice cream was an extra £2.95. In essence It cost us £67 for two burgers n a kids meal with drinks, not good value for a family dinner out in my eyes … We won’t be back!!

The weekend of the raft race we got the chance to have a look around the lifeboat in Portrush Harbour. Wow what a job these guys do. It was like walking into the cockpit of a plane with the gadjets and gizmos. All this is needed to keep people safe. Give generously to the RNLI as you never know when you may need them. Normally they are selling items outside the ramp/offices. If you dont want any of the items just donate. Oh and the Harbour is a quiet place to sit and contemplate your thoughts. We called in on a Friday evening in February sat by the fire and enjoyed chat with other people around us. No phones. Simple conversation, People have forgot the art of conversation and this is a great place to start. We received sample food late on which was nice.

Part of the Ramore group of restaurants on the harbor, you can't go wrong. The food is incredible, the service is fantastic, pick whichever restaurant best suits the ambiance for your occasion. The harbor bar has lots of intimate nooks and crannies if you'd like to focus on the people in conversation, you're with. Some of the other restaurants offer harbor views or live music. I was particularly impressed with the kids menu at very affordable prices. Leaves plenty of budget to splurge on our favorite dish, seafood thermador. We visited several years ago, and on this return trip to Northern Ireland, we specifically planned to come to Portrush, not for The Open, but just to eat here again.

A great place for a chill glass of wine or Guinness while watching sports.

I was told by one of the British Open parking attendants to come here to get a drink. I walked up the hill and there it was. Lot of people standing outside on the patio but no seats. I went in to the small bar on the lower level and a very friendly male bartender waited on me.

I wandered upstairs to the second level where it was a huge space and had plenty of big screen TVs for the golf. I found the place to be very comfortable and great views of the water.

The young guy at the second level bar was nice but a bit of an airhead (the drink was £11 and I handed him £20, he stood waiting for more money and ummmmmmm didn’t I give you a 20? He seemed clueless about the money) We had a laugh but prob a good idea to know what the local money looks like!

The top level of this place was an amazing view but it was Sunday afternoon and the bar was not open. Has more of a night feel.

It’s a fantastic building and I...
