Rakki Rakkas — Restaurant in Nottingham

Well me and three friends went there last night (30/09/23). It was very busy and the atmosphere seemed good. We ordered drinks and then a few minutes later, they came and asked if we were ready to order. We weren’t, so the waitress said she’d give us a couple of minutes and would come back. 10 mins later, they hadn’t come back. There is (what should be) a handy little call button on the table. We pressed it…….. 5-10 mins later……. Still waiting….. I pressed it several times and waited……. 5 mins later, still no waitress! So I had to go and find someone to come to the table. To be fair, the waitress did apologise and took our order. The food on the menu said comes with salad, fries or rice. We all picked fries and waited for the meal to come. The “salad” was a 1/4 of a chargrilled tomato and a chargrilled long chilli! I don’t know about you, but that certainly doesn’t equate to a salad in my book! When we had finished the meal, we pressed the “call” button again in order to get the bill. We waited like 10 mins and nobody came! We had to flag a waitress down to get her attention! We asked if the button thing worked, as we’d pressed it several times and had had no response. She was actually a little rude. Now it maybe that they were very busy, or she was just having a bad night, but the four of us weren’t impressed at all. I won’t be going there again as waiting 45 mins to have our food order taken was taking the piss...

We went to Rakki Rakkas last night, a group of 12 of us for my friend's birthday. We arrived at 7 pm and were shown to our table. We were then ignored for 20 minutes. I got up to ask the only waiter upstairs to come to our table so we could order some drinks. He said he was busy sorting a bill but would come to us soon. He eventually came to our table at 7.30 and took our drinks order. Our drinks took 15 minutes to arrive. Then at 7.50 he took our order for food, 50 minutes after we'd arrived!!. We waited a long time for our food to come. 10 plates ariived, the 11th 5 minutes later and the 12th didn't arrive. We pointed this out. 10 minutes later no word so my friend got up to find the waiter and ask were his food was. Waiter came back and said his food would be just a few minutes. His food finally arrived after the rest of us had finished eating!!! I looked around our table. All wine glasses and bottles were empty. Noone came to ask if we would like some more drinks. Crazy. We all did. Or if our food was ok. We eventually ordered 3 more bottles but only 2 turned up. UTTER SHAMBLES. This restaurant does not have enough staff to provide even a basic service. The 12 of us agreed no tip and we also agreed not to make a fuss as we didn't want to spoil our friend's birthday any further. No apology offered. THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. 12 future...

Second time at Rakki Raja's, a new restaurant in Sherwood. Booked table for 4 and it was a Saturday. Restaurant was busy. Waiting staff friendly on arrival as was the chefs working behind the counter. Second time ordering Turkish wine and would recommend. We all ordered starters. With hindsight too much as they also bring you free starters.Also No sooner had our starters arrived the main meals appeared so you are trying to fit everything on the table! (Would be better if you could be given time to enjoy the starters) in terms of mains 3 of us ordered a kebab with chips and lovely fresh salad. My sis in law specifically asked for no onion on her Pida (well she asked if it came with onion and she was told no, not if the menu didn't mention onion) sadly it arrived with onion and she explained this to the waitress. There was no hesitation in taking the pida away and apologising. Sis in law simply chose something else off menu. Impressed with customer service. Lots of food so asked to take away. Again no problems. Excited to return again and try something new. Excited to this fab new addition to Sherwood high street. Keep up...
