Good morning. We came to your cafe on Saturday. We chose to not announce our coming, but to eat as a normal customer. We were extremely disappointed. This takes me back years when I was involved in a local newspaper as a food critic. Here is my review. We choose to have one of the specials aubergine sabzi. To our disappointment the server had insufficient knowledge of the menu (second time this happens, even after previously offering feedback that staff in our experience had insufficient menu/product knowledge) she was asked what was in the dish and replied "some spicy thing, with fried eggs, I'm not sure but it's nice" this is a clear demonstration of an insufficient knowledge of what you actually serve. When the dish was delivered I was shocked and disappointed. To find 3 pieces of aubergine 2 fried eggs few pieces sliced tomatoe with a handful of rocket with a drizzle of pesto. This does not fairly represent the dish. At its least a sabzi is a type of curry. To include fried eggs pesto and rocket is a clear travesty and total misrepresentation of what the dish should be. Additionally a price 5p short of £8 is extremely over priced. I can only say that whilst a number of your customers may not know what a sabzi is, there will always be a probability that some will correctly know and expect to be served the dish as it should be. This style of cafe service and management is not one that sits comfortably ( to substitute dishes and change in their entirety) quite honestly the standard and quality of food is significantly not worth the over inflated prices. Having read a large number of recent reviews it is clear that we are not the only customers who share this opinion of low food quality versus over inflated prices. My advice is at the beginning of every day make sure all of your staff can recite back to customers all ingredients of every dish you serve. Also if your cooks/chefs cannot cook dishes as close to their original recipe, then think of your business in a bigger picture and don't serve dishes that are changed beyond recognition. I strongly advise you bring your prices down because it can never be acceptable to charge £8 for 2 fried eggs and few pieces of fried aubergine with no flavour. I hope you understand all of my points and appreciate the need for this review. We simply feel that any trust to provide a good experience is not achievable for the crimson tree at this point. Read moreThis on trend boho chic and middle Eastern/Mediterranean style eatery is set on the main Sherwood road , with great public transport links from the city of Nottingham. The decors quirky and eclectic style mix , features up cycled vintage furniture and fixings plus , Moorish style ceramic tiles and vintage ornaments and artwork features which have been created to give a very special atmosphere which all adds up to the crimson tree experience . The crimson tree upon our visit was bustling with a good customer base , that I guess we're regulars , and all were enjoying the food and ambiance of the crimson tree eatery . The food on offer was presented very well and all the pastries I viewed were baked to artisan quality and were good sizes for individual portions . We purchased a sandwich which was plated up with a salad for two and it was top quality fresh bread !! Baked to a very high standard , plus the salad was served with a light oil dressing that complimented it perfectly and was included in the cost in addition to this we also had a hummus and pita bread plus a large glass of merlot and a carafe of chilled water , the cost in total was circa £21 which was reasonable for the quality of food and drink on offer . The wine choice is quite good and varied and should suit most palates and beer and coffee plus soft drinks are available . The crimson tree experience is a very relaxing comfortable vibe and is an ideal place for friends family or perhaps a romantic dinner , please might I add although alcohol is served here it is not a pub experience type venue and is more of a food and drink experience as good food good wine and good company go together !! , that's the crimson tree experience . The staff upon our visit were polite and friendly and helpful with menu choices and keen to make sure our visit was a good one . This was our first to the crimson tree eatery and I'm sure if we're in the area we will return , if you have the chance to visit I'm sure you will enjoy the experience like ourselves . A MUST PLACE VISIT WHILST IN THE...

It was not a long wait and we were asked if we did not mind sitting up at the bar but was nicely warned that the door when opening and shutting may cause a draft. My friend and I were not bothered as we were both wrapped up. Overall the place is nicely decorated and the ambience they have created a nice place to sit. However, the food which was the reason for our visit my treat for my friend’s birthday not so good. I chose Rarebit yes I knew what it was by the menu, my friend chose the quiche of the day. Both arrived after ordering a nice hot coffee. Straight away visually I was disappointed presentation was not really looking good and as the price was £8.25 in my opinion not good on value for money. My friends was £9.50 for a slice of quiche her feedback was that she quite enjoyed it so I was happy as it was my treat. We both decided to have a sweet treat and when I saw my measley slice £2.95 I was straight away disappointed mind you when I saw the price of my friends slice of cake £4.50 well words failed me. I have been in vegetarian/vegan restaurants so many times and a slice of cake has never been this. It’s almost on London prices. So will I visit again no probably not the price is so off putting for what little you get. I liked the decor and the staff were very nice but the food let it down quality, portion...
