I took my daughter here for her birthday, the pancakes she had were too much for her so she took two home, kindly boxed up by staff. When she bit in to one LATER that day she found a broken false nail in her mouth. The next day I quietly and respectfully, avoiding any fuss, went to see the manager. I gave her the nail after having taken a photo of it. She was appropriate in her response explaining she would need to speak with the owners and that she was confused as it couldn't have come from the kitchen staff. Of note I showed her my full set of nails for reference. The manager was very polite and professional so hopefully she has advised the business owner of this key point as it seems to be a key strand of his defence. I was absolutely shocked thereafter to receive an email from the owner saying that post a staff meeting, a member of staff had gone onto my private Facebook page, copied the photo to highlight that i wear nails so said it was more likely mine!. The owner attached this photo of me in an email copying in the food safety team at the council. This response is absolutely shocking and totally unprofessional on every level. Of note. I would not have left a review I just felt that they needed to investigate it for their own protection as business owners. Please see my trip advisor account where most reviews are positive. I know how other customers would have responded so how sad, that when you try to respond appropriately and discreetly this is what happens. Shameful, as such this has now been reported to the food safety team* What is really concerning is that the owner feels his time is best spent trying to discredit customers with a legitimate complaint rather than focus on health and hygiene practices. There are only a very very small cohort of customers in my experience, who need to falsify complaints for the sake of a mere £11. Unfortunately the owner has continued to make numerous inappropriate attempts to be personal and slanderous. The behaviour in his numerous responses speaks volumes. The owner spent more time attempting to bully a customer than addressing the fundamental issue. I can honestly say I have never seen behaviour like it. The health and safety team did visit but declined to take up my offer of paying for a test to confirm the nail was not from my household! In conclusion I will never go here again...
Read moreBasically if you’re coloured this is not the place for you. Don’t even bother going. The worst service and one staff member in particular with her red eyeshadow at the bottom of her eye, huge cheeks and extensive pants on is the most rudest witch that doesn’t know how to give customer service. She was huffing and puffing in our face whilst taking loads of pauses. Especially when we entered we were acknowledged but not welcomed or sat down. We stood there for 20min whilst “white people” who came after were given priority and coloured people were still waiting. Me and my boyfriend will never visit this place! Racist staff, discriminative behaviour by the staff and customers who were white acting like they’ve never seen people of colour before! Food was also disgusting English breakfast comes with pancakes and not toast how does that make sense and staff can’t change it because it’s what’s on the menu!
P.S. As I cant reply to the response below. It is hilarious that i have just read another comment that regarded bad service from your staff and you try and excuse it with oh the person is in training. I wont be emailing YOU because i have emailed the head branch so that whoever owns pudding pantry can look into it. We have videos of how and when we were served. It’s funny how everyone else as explained was happily served but when it came to us we were served unpleasantly. Racism in your store is definitely there as seeing responses that you are replying to with copy and paste to have your own back. You checked CCTV what for the whole week? The pudding pantry branch in Nottingham City Centre is so much better and welcoming maybe you as a manager and your staff should go there for training! Absolutely disgusting! The audacity to try and make it seem we were in the wrong! Also I never ever mentioned slow service with racism! Maybe you haven’t faced racism for you to make a judgement! It’s how we felt! Alongside stop making stuff up to cover your...
Read moreI'm a regular visitor to the sherwood pudding pantry and decided to take my mum for breakfast as she hadn't been before. I always have the same breakfast without fail and my mum also ordered the same. We both had American pancakes with blueberries /bacon with maple syrup. When the food was given to us my mums bacon was all stuck together in a clump and very under cooked, my bacon was completely the opposite being too crispy. Also I had 4 of the smallest blueberries I have ever seen. My mum had around 6 but again the size of them was tiny compared to the next table who had the same as a much larger quantity and bigger berries. We asked for the bacon to be cooked more and I just made do. We also asked if we could have some better berries as compared to other customers we didn't feel that ours was satisfactory. Mid way through eating the pancakes we needed some more syrup, asked the staff member if was possible to have more syrup and she gave us some. The pancakes are quite large and the very small pot of syrup never really is enough for the size of them! Anyway we continued our breakfast and asked for the bill to then find out we had been charged nearly £11 in extras! We had been charged for more berries and more syrup. We questioned it and was left waiting ages for someome to get back to us, the lady said she would refund us £2. I'm so disappointed as what we was given was not usually what we get and to never be told that the extras were chargeable was quite a shock. I don't believe we should have been charged for the fruit when we wasn't given the same as other tables in the first place. We will not be returning as this has completely put me...
