My partner and I went to Sovrano this afternoon. When we walked in, we were very pleasantly greeted by the servers, who gave us free reign on where we sat. The restaurant itself is very clean and very well decorated, background music was noticeable but not intrusive. I ordered a double patty burger with cheese and bacon, which was served in a sesame seed bun, lettuce, a slice of tomato and two slices of gherkin and a portion of French Fries.

My first impression of the dish was that the burger patties looked very greasy and I was expecting Chucky chips (although it wasn’t specified what type of chips I’d receive) but it wasn’t disappointed by the chips, they were well cooked and tasted nice.

The burger on the other hand was another matter. You couldn’t eat it with your hands because of how greasy it was, so I ended up using the knife and fork provided. The overall taste of the burger was OK but the texture was massively let down by how greasy it was. The bacon was however crispy and cooked to my definition of perfection. I was disappointed by the greasiness of the burger and left full (I don’t like leaving food I’ve paid good money for) but rather disappointed by the quality of the burger.

My partner had a chicken pasta dish, which came with a small side salad, which not only looked good, but my partner really enjoyed it.

There is a decent amount to choose from on the menu, including a range of starters, pasta dishes, pizza’s, burgers and more!!! So we will be back and I will definitely try another dish.

The service was great and the restaurant was well themed and very clean, the toilets were absolutely spotless.

Overall...

I was unfortunately disappointed with the service, we ordered 2 pasta’s, garlic bread and chips. The chips and garlic bread came out quite fast then one pasta dish came out and 20-30 minutes had gone by with no sign of the other dish we waited but no one even bothered to say sorry the other pasta (which was the exact same dish) will take couple of minutes. Other tables who had just sat down (which the restaurant wasn’t busy at all) were given their food and we were still waiting. When it eventually arrived they did apologise but the other pasta had gone cold so they literally microwaved my friend’s food. We did get £4 taken off the bill which was something atleast but I was very disappointed and felt quite upset if they had just communicated when they had brought the food that it will take a while id have been more happier. Food was okay but cold due to waiting for the pasta. I used to work as a waitress the main meals should be put on the pass till all mains are ready or atleast say that it’s going to take a while. Really...

We went in here on Tuesday hoping for a nice lunch. Unfortunately, the kitchen claimed to be completely unable to serve anything that my son (who has an egg allergy) could eat.

We understand and explained to the waiter that we understood that the kitchen handled eggs and that there was always a risk of cross-contamination. Our son's allergy is fortunately moderate enough that it is only triggered by eggs as an ingredient. But the kitchen said that absolutely nothing was egg free.

Having dined at a wide range of restaurants with my son, this seems unlikely to me: normally dried pasta is egg free, almost all bread is egg free, most sausages and bacon are egg free, chips are universally egg free, etc. So my assumption is that the kitchen would rather send a customer away hungry than to put any effort into checking ingredients for allergens, which...

Service felt a little disjointed in some areas but the waiters were kind and attentive. We didn't receive our drinks at the same time. The atmosphere is very nice, both inside and outside. However, the lower ceiling and dangling décor may not be conducive to repeated standing for taller clientele. Side note, some outdoor tables are fairly heavily on a slant but some care seems to have been put into not having them rock around. The drinks were decent and the cappuccino looked delectable - the taste was good too. However, the food was amazing. We both devoured what we thought we couldn't. The price was pretty expensive but is very reasonable, especially if you pay with cash - of which there are cash machines not even 100yd from the place. Personal Note: my most standards, this is 5 stars but I am extremely picky. If I could do 4.5 stars, I would.

Anywhere that offers food from their full menu first thing on a Sunday wins my heart. Sovrano delivers quality in every department: service, food, accommodation. It’s Italian at heart, but happily offers up a quality full English alongside its quality Italian dishes. The coffee is surprisingly good, prepared on a 3 group head La Spaziale, steadily pumping through an Italian dark roast. Price was spot on, Nuneaton in general offers excellent value for money. Service wasn’t personable, but it was swift and accurate. There was plenty of outdoor seating available. It was packed to the rafters around 11am. This is a popular place, I know know why. Walk over and grab a table as soon as one becomes available.

My partner enjoyed the Lasagne so much that we ate a week ago, he just said will you do me a favour leave a review for that restaurant! So here I am! We have tried, Lasagne, spaghetti bolognese, carbonara, pizzas, toasties. Honestly ingredients taste fresh, generous on fillings, toppings and cheese. Portion wise if anything there abit too big lol. Sides are generous salad is extremely fresh. I would have thought it would be very expensive but the prices arnt far off getting a mcdonalds. If anyone asked me where to eat I would say here every time. Can't wait to come back to try something else
