We thought we'd try this new venture in Nuneaton Town Centre. We didn't really know what to make of it. The menu is posted at the door and it's an eclectic mix of things like roasts and steaks plus sandwiches and paninis. The menu is not very inviting though, very poorly presented. Under roasts it simply had chicken, beef etc, no mention of what it came with. A similar story with other things. What on earth is a vegetarian panini? No explanation at all. No indication as to whether you have a choice of bread for sandwiches and no mention of the salad and coleslaw that came with them. For a new place the menu was s little tatty too. Some seating outside but there were too many smoking so went inside. Lots of comfy armchairs and sofas at the front with a more formal dining area at the back. We ordered a tuna mayo sandwich and ham/cheese toastie with two diet cokes. Prices were reasonable. The service was pretty quick and the cokes arrived quickly but they weren't cold, very basic fail! The tuna mayo sandwich was ok, the salad fresh and the coleslaw was of the cheap kind. The Ham and cheese toastie was also 'ok' using very thin bread with same salad and coleslaw. It was ok. We normally have a piece of cake and the menu mentioned some, but I like to have a look at cakes before I order and the cake stands at the bar area were empty. Instead, we got two great cakes to take away from the Cowshed at Poplars Farm. It says it's a bistro but it's not open in the evening? Is it a cafe with no cakes? Confusing identity, average food when there are so many better options in town? Do the owners have any experience in hospitality as it really does itself no favours against the competition in town. I wish it well, maybe these are 'teething' problems but unlikely to go...
Read moreWent Monday night with the wife, was welcomed in by the owner who was very happy to see us. He said as it’s Monday night no need to book just pick any table you’d like. Once seated we started looking at the menu to see what we’d like to eat. A waitress took our drink order while a waiter brought us complimentary fresh bread with a number of traditional olives and dips which was absolutely delicious with a salad. We ordered our meals starters and mains our starters arrived once we’d finished those our mains arrived a short time after. The presentation of the food was outstanding and the food itself was fantastic really fresh and well cooked.
This was our first visit to the restaurant but definitely won’t be the last everything about our experience was first rate the food the service and the restaurant. The people that work here obviously love what they’re doing and it shows.
This is a fine establishment to go for a lovely meal out and relax it’s a definitely a 10/10 if your looking for somewhere special to go then this is it.
Thank you so much Mustafa and your staff Kind...
Read moreThe menus on Google Maps are mostly far out of date, including at present the text I believe is posted by the owners. There is no longer anything vegan, and the only vegetarian option seems to be the veggie burger and chips. The food was fine, although we went because menus showed falafel wraps, baba ghanoush, stuffed leaves, etc, so it was a bit of a letdown. Service was fast and friendly, although neither of the ladies could tell us anything about the menu change. The place itself feels a bit grubby and rundown. Lots of gouged walls, not terribly clean floors, no hot water in the toilets, all the artwork is marked for sale, threadbare cushions, sagging chairs, etc. If it was a horse, you'd be looking up the price of glue futures. The bit of bamboo or whatever it was stuck through the burgers looked like it had been used before, and the sole vinnegar bottle we found was capped off with a wad of plastic wrap. If you're tired and hungry, it's okay, but given the option I'd...
