Disappointing and cheaply made. Thought we'd found a good takeaway on seeing the menu, having a Chinese background I was delighted to see more of a traditonal offering than other takeaways. There was very little meat and was full of fat, 90% of the beef was fat, so little to be desired. Beef flank ho fun is not recommended, noodles overcooked and dish served incorrectly, a couple of pieces of pak choi was the only veg. Very cheaply made and not good quality at all. Photos show meat with some fat removed. Beef dumplings in ginger were tasteless as well as the char siu being low quality. Seaweed was over sweet and not traditional to taste. Shredded duck rolls were okay but not brilliant. Water cooked szechuan was better but again very little meat provided, this was a tastier dish but against terrible it's not brilliant, very fatty again. Left hungry and out of pocket, well overpriced for the quality and portions given. I would not eat here or recommend, pushing at 1 star.

Nice service friendly staff but we didn't have a good food experience. We've visited twice because we thought they might have had a bad day at our first visit however both times were not great. Ran out of quite a few things both times being 2 hour in since they opened, no cheun fun, crispy pork or meatballs. We ordered duo of roast meat, duck and char siu was dry. Not saying they did but tasted like they used microwave to reheat. Char siu is not the honey roast meat you usually get in a traditional roast, it's sliced ones for the western style noodle dishes. The remaining dim sum was ok but a bit plain. No soup inside the shanghai dumplings. We didn't find it tasty. I would not be visiting again and would grab chinese roasts from the other place in Preston instead of here.

Went to Tang for our daughters birthday. I have to say, firstly the staff are fabulous, the lovely guys were so helpful and happily took the surprise birthday cake and candles to 'hide' them while we had the meal. The service was 2nd to none, there was table wiping between every course and the staff made sure all was good for us. The food... Omg the crispy seaweed is to die for and the fillet steak hubby had was amazing. At the end of the meal, the young staff member brought out the cake, with the candles on and lit for us, happy birthday playing in the background... All in all I would highly recommend Tang restaurant for an eat in meal. Thanks to the staff who helped the birthday celebrations go to plan.

Went to this place today and as soon as we came into eat, there was on elderly man who was extremely rude to us, perhaps the owner of the restaurant. Asking us if we were students or just moved to this country just because we said "reservation for 2", and had our palm facing towards us when we said "2" with our fingers ✌️. Apparently he took offence to this, but asking us questions like "have you just moved to this country or something" was unnecessary. Extremely rude. We were genuinely unaware that this gesture could be very offensive and he acted as if we had pointed the middle finger at him or otherwise. We genuinely were just trying to communicate to him as it was difficult to understand him as well. There was no ill-intent.

We came here to eat and he genuinely ruined our time by being so rude right from the time we entered. The other staff were nice but would not recommend going to this restaurant if you have to encounter this man. The rudeness from this person made our meal unenjoyable and then for the rest of the night he avoided us. Please treat your customers nicely. The food was okay! We ate their for approx. 59 GBP worth of food and even tipped the other waiter who handed us the bill, so please don't reply to this review saying we were horrible customers, etc.

I am writing this to let you know that the way you treat others says more about you then about us. Before you jump to conclusions about who we are, please try to think that we might not be people who are going out of their way to be hurtful to you. This review has not been written in a spiteful attempt to get back at you but in hopes that you won't treat other customers this way and for them to not have the unpleasant experience we encountered...

Unfortunately the owner/manager was very rude. We made a booking online through the online booking system on their website. This is apparently wrong and you can only book on the phone. They require a cash deposit but were funny when we asked for a receipt of this “why it’s not going anywhere” was their response. Apparently there is a minimum spend of £250 for the karaoke room? There was only 5 of us. The room itself was fine and food was ok. Buzzed a few times and no service. At 45 minutes to end the owner demanded that we must spend a further £100 to meet the £250 requirement (that isn’t stated anywhere online or in the restaurant) but the kitchen closes in 15. They wouldn’t let us order a dessert and suggested we buy 4 bottles of Prosecco at £25 and be on our way- which I said was expensive. His reply was “in an English restaurant it’s double, we are way cheaper” Then said “you need to spend £100 in the next 45 mins so chop chop” When trying to discuss with the manager/owner (unsure which he is) he kept walking off leaving us to deal with the poor waiter. We were trying to discuss that there wasn’t service at times and calling us 15 minutes before end of kitchen service to tell us we need to spend £100 more was not fair as we could have ordered more food or dessert if service was prompt/buzzer was adhered to. Such a shame as the rest of the staff were kind and helpful. Will not be revisiting and advised his website needs changing. He wasn’t for any feedback on his website as it’s theirs? Whatever that means. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re after a nice...
