Looked at reviews for this place online and seemed a good place to try, advertised as halal restaurant but upon entering could see they served alcohol from a bar area, manager suddenly became rude and aggresive as we left without ordering. Halal in my opinion is not just the food served in an establishment but also drinks. Their business their prerogative but wholly unprofessional to challenge customers for their beliefs. Edit 1: Instead of taking negative reviews and feedback on board to see how he can better his business and customer service experience this guy responds to them, in the same bullying manner you face in their restaurant when you dare complain, he has no shame. The owners responses are delusional and aggressive at best. Further down blames computers for any negative reviews, oh dear. That's a lot of trolls and hassle to be so unfortunate with so many negative reviews. This is the place for you if you enjoy a jumped up twirp who thinks he's Don Huan of the Indian restaurant industry with his 2 star run down diner pub, go fill your boots and when you leave any feedback other than complimentary he will lie, bully and call you a troll. Ps just seen another of your delightful encounters that surprise surprise you are denying happened also. Amateurs.

First time visitors tonight. This is a great restaurant to go as a couple, with family, friends or solo. A large venue, which when busy, will have a great atmosphere. I went with my partner, although there were only 4 other couples, the place felt relaxed and comfortable. We agreed that the food was the best we have tasted in quite some time....(and we often visit different Indian restaurants). Service was good, no delays, friendly approachable staff too & female waitress. Live music events are held with inclusive dinner. Discounts on their Facebook page are available. Takeaway service is also available, again with offers and free delivery within a 4 mile radius. We will certainly be going again. Compliments to the chef here!... This restaurant is easy to drive past. It is in a small complex along with Lidl, Sally's & Fab Home Interiors & within half a mile of Preston Porche Centre... what a day out you could have!!. Restaurant address:..The Silk Route - 4 West Strand, Strand Rs, Preston, PR1 8UY. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Went for the Sunday buffet. Room is elegant, lovely sofas, seated quickly, as only 4 other tables in. Lots of empty serving dishes, weird combination of Indian and Chinese dishes - red curry (thai), sesame chicken (chinese) samosas (indian) spring rolls (chinese). Multiple varients on "chips". Veg pakora like chewy rubber after sitting so long on the plate. HORRIFIED to find prawn crackers in place of poppadoms! This is a basic. We were told we could order food that had run out on the buffet, but then the bloke vanished and the only other person on the restaurant floor didn't understand English well. When the freshly prepared chicken tikka arrived it was excellent, so perhaps it's only the buffet that's appalling. Overall, mad expensive for not-very-good experience. Do fewer dishes and do them better.

Rude poor customer service.

Ordered a delivery, it arrived wrong but we didn't want to wait for it to be resolved as the other food would be cold. Sent a message and was asked to call the restaurant so did so the next day.

The guy was amenable until he realised where we lived. He was then quite rude and repeatedly said they don't deliver there, making me feel like a liar. When I asked him to check the orders he laughed at me. One of your staff clearly took an order for the area by mistake, possibly as our postcode comes under Preston? Who knows, but still no reason to speak to customers in this way.

We know exactly where we ordered from and checked our phone record - it was definitely this restaurant. We've been trying to find a decent Indian in our area for a long time and purposely chose this place as it came up top with reviews (not sure why). This was our first and last order.

In addition the food was bland, spicy popadum burnt and the veg platter was nothing special at all - we would have put this down to a one off and tried again but not now.

We've seen the responses the restaurant give to poor feedback so expecting to be questioned and made out to be disingenuous, again - we won't be responding. Again we know where we ordered from, check your orders from 26th October and if you see one for the area you don't deliver to we'll happily accept an apology.

Response was to be expected from these unprofessional people. My review is not argumentative, just honest. And I certainly don't work for a competitor, I work in a school. I originally sent a message on Facebook and then spoke to you over the phone and was very polite - as my intention was to give feedback that the meals were wrong, not to get a free meal at all, I wouldn't want it. I've never set foot in the restaurant so not sure what that's about. I have no idea why any restaurant would respond in a way like this and not want to keep custom.

How many orders did you have on the 26th who then spoke to you about the order being wrong who you told was in an area you...

Myself and Son went to a Freddie Mercury tribute act. It was sold out. The place was packed. As people were being served and eating, some had even Finnish there dinner, we finally got our starter. After that my Son went out for a cigarette, to which when he came back said to me that someone outside has told him that Freddie has got stage fright and left.l. How funny and unbearable is that. I said this can't be true, no one has been to tell us this. Then our meal final arrive after a long wait. I truly believe that we were forgotten about. So then a Northern soul singer started doing his thing. A few people started to leave. As I don't blame them. After a few songs it was painful and pitiful to watch a very talented man trying to entertain people that were very disappointed. He then put a Freddie Mercury C.D on and sat down. I myself was very let down by the lack of information and change of artists. No one apologised. If I was told before dinner I would not have stopped. We left as soon as we were finished eating. I have emailed silk route to which I have had still no response. I have rang them, to which whom ever I was speaking to said that someone would be back in touch with me. But still no response. So all in all a very disappointed night. On the plus side even though we waited for ever for our food, it was...

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING RESTAURANT!!!! DO NOT VISIT. This foul restaurant hires employees and verbally torments and abuses them. Their treatment of staff is extremely unethical and they treat them as if they are slaves, they overwork them to the point of literal mental and physical torture. My father was employed by this restaurant for a week, he is a kind, peaceful and calm mannered man who just needed a stable job to support a family and put food on the table. The rude employer and the employers wife (who was even worse) treated him as if he was nothing, as if he was of no value at all. They then sacked him, for God knows whatever reason, my father is competent and has been in the restaurant industry for over 3 decades, but has never worked at an organisation that treats their employees with such less respect. If you want to keep supporting this kind of behaviour and maltreatment, then continue to dine here, but if you agree that it is completely unacceptable, do not give them any of your business! They might seem nice and friendly to your face, but what goes on behind closed doors is quite frankly inhumane, my poor father was left mental issues and has to take rest from working just because of what this business put him through. This business is going to be reported and they will be dealt with...
